Provincial Women’s Union, on Oct.19, held a get-together to celebrate the 82nd anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union (Oct.20, 1930-Oct.20, 2012).

At the get-together, participants had a chance to review the history of the Vietnam Women’s Union and women’s movements over periods. Provincial Women’s Union organized many substantial activities for the local women over the past time. Particularly, provincial Women’s Union built 66 houses of compassion worth more than VND2.3bln. Under the campaign of “Studying and following Uncle Ho’s exemplary morals”,  provincial Women’s Union and its affiliates promoted the piggy bank-raising model with 3,223 piggy banks and developed 57 saving books with more than VND240mln; offered help to women in economic development; engaged in activities of environmental protection…

On this occasion, the awards ceremony of the provincial writing contest on “The historical movements of Binh Duong’s women in the period of 1975 and 2005 period”; the Resolution of the 10th provincial Women’s Congress for 2011-2016 term; the Resolution of the 11th national Women’s Congress  was also organized.
