Province marks the VBA’s 50th founding anniversary

Early April 11, provincial Party Committee held a conference to review the 30-year implementation of the Directive No.51-CT/TW of the Secretariat of the 6^th Party Central Committee dated April 12, 1989 on supporting the Vietnam Blind Association (VBA) and mark the 50^th founding anniversary of the VBA (April 17, 1969-April 17, 2019).

The event was attended by Dinh Thanh Tung, Vice-Chairman of the VBA together with representatives of sectors, departments in the province and outstanding members of provincial Blind Association.

At the event, delegates reviewed the 50-year tradition of the VBA. Under the Directive No.51-CT/TW plus the attention of mass organizations and donors, the province has improved the lives of the local blind people with the month subsidy of VND340,000 per person. It is known that over the past time, the province also mobilized organizations and individuals to offer 119,643 gifts worth more than VND61billion to the blind on Tet and great holidays; build 174 “great unity” houses and upgrade 46 houses with a total expense of more than VND2.6billion;  give 139 saving books worth VND76million to them…

On this occasion, the organizers awarded 15 mementoes “For happiness of the blind”, the certificates of merit of provincial People’s Committee to 25 outstanding collectives and individuals over the past time.
