Province promotes price stabilization program

To further promote the price stabilization program and the campaign “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”, provincial Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT) will coordinate with relevant units and enterprises to increase sales time and outlets.

For the price stabilization program before, during and after the Tet (lunar new year) holiday 2013 implemented effectively, provincial DoIT has teamed up with relevant agencies, the People’s Committees of districts, towns and city to build up the Plan No.3332/KH-UBND of provincial People’s Committee.  

The province will further promote its program of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural regions”

Accordingly, provincial People’s Committee will instruct participating enterprises to prepare some essential commodities, including rice, sugar, cooking oil, cattle meat, confectionary…., with a total value of around VND504bln to serve the local people before, after and during the Tet holiday 2013. Province-based companies, including Pham Ton Co.Ltd., Binh Duong Tourism-Trading Joint Stock Co., Thanh Le Import Export-Trading Co., CoopMart, Big C, Citimark…, are responsible for ensuring supply of goods under the price stabilization program.

Along with implementation of the price stabilization program before, during and after the Tet holiday 2013, the province’s price stabilization activities and the program “Bringing Vietnamese goods to countryside” in the coming time will be adjusted to cater the local people’s demand for shopping. Particularly, in 2013, provincial DOIT will increase sales time and set up more retail outlets so that price-subsidized commodities are accessible to all customers, especially residents and workers living in suburban districts and in industrial parks. The number of mobile outlets of goods at stabilized prices will increase to 82 from 68 and the time for sales will be also lasted from 2 to 4 days a week.

Provincial DoIT will also join hands with provincial Department of Information and Communication, Department of Culture-Sports and Tourism and the People’s Committees of districts, towns and city to speed up dissemination of information about the price stabilization program via the mass media.

It is scheduled that in 2013, provincial DoIT will coordinate with provincial Fatherland Front Committee and relevant agencies to organize 15 market-days of “Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural regions”. Books, notebooks, learning tools, medicine… will be also selected for the price stabilization program

Vo Van Cu, Director of provincial DoIT said that provincial DoIT will regularly guide and make inspection tours of participating enterprises under the Plan No.3332/KH-UBND. Provincial DoIT will also work with provincial Industrial Parks Management Board, provincial Labor Union and participating enterprises to build up plans to better serve laborers in industrial parks and compounds.

According to provincial People’s Committee Chairman Le Thanh Cung, province-based enterprises need to increase essential commodities like processed and fresh food at the local customers’ demand for shopping during the Tet holiday 2013. The local functional agencies also need to strength market management; prevent poor-quality and fake goods, trade fraud; tighten control over prices, especially for price-stabilized products…
