Province reaches stable socio-economic development, creating motivation for completion of year’s plan

Early April 2, provincial People’s Committee hed a periodic session of March, 2019. Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee chaired the session with the attendance of Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee together with representatives of sectors, departments in the province.

Domains with high growth

In Q1, 2019, as many as 236 new enterprises in the province went into operation. The province’s index of industrial production surged 7.16% over the same period last year. Of these, mining industry grew by 3.24%. Processing industry saw a growth of 7.17% while production and distribution of power, gas and water surged 10.25%.

Over the past three months, the province’s water supply, waste-sewage management and treatment surged 22.52% compared to the corresponding period. The output of some industrial products in the province saw high growth in comparison with the same period last year. Particularly, plastic products, semi-conductors, steel rose by 9.1%, 17.9%, 43.5%..., respectively.

The district’s total retail sales revenue of commodities and services was more than VND57trillion, up 14.6% against the same period last year. The province’s export turnover was more than US$6.1billion, up 13.4% over the same period last year. The province’s State budget collection was estimated at VND14.7trillion, up 18% compared to the corresponding period last year. In terms of credit, the district’s total capital mobilized was VND182trillion, up 3% while total outstanding loans reached VND181.5trillion, up 16% against the same period last year.

Regarding investment attraction, the province lured more than VND9.88trillion from newly-registered domestic enterprises and 173 extra-ones. So far, the whole province has lured 37,494 domestic enterprises with a total registered capital of more than VND310.8trillion. The province has also drawn US$545million in FDI capital, up 30% compared to the same period last year or 38.9% of the year’s plan. Currently, the province is home to 3,571 FDI projects with a total registered capital of US$32.85billion. In Q1, 2019, provincial People’s Committee coordinated with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to successfully organize a conference of consultation on institutional and policies improvement on FDI in the new context, which was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue.

Along with economic development, the province’s socio-cultural fields continued gained positive changes. Particularly, the province further excelled at public healthcare, ensured food safety and hygiene, maintained political security-social order…

Focusing on 9 major tasks

At the session, provincial People’s Committee also considered some statements on support policies for civil servants, pupils and those who are in charge of child protection, gender equality and discussed some other issues.

In Q2, 2019, the province will bend on 9 major tasks for socio-economic development. Accordingly, sectors and authorities at all levels will focus on implementing tasks of the Government, the Prime Minister, provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee; have drastic instructions to victoriously carry out 2019’s tasks on socio-economic development, national defence-security; set up a report on the result of implementation of provincial Party Committee’s breakthrough program for the 2016-2020 period…

Provincial People’s Committee will also grasp the situation of enterprises for timely support; further set up support policies for startup enterprises; strengthen works on power to ensure enterprises and people’s demand; tap public assets as stipulated…

Addressing the session, Mr.Liem asked for relevant agencies and localities to opportunely and sufficiently implement tasks on national defence and military; effectively take solutions to ensure political security and social order-safety. They were also ordered to tighten control over agricultural production, prevention of diseases in crop plants and domestic animals, especially African hog cholera; ensure water for agricultural production and forest fire prevention; well realize policies for policy beneficiaries on Tet and great holidays. In addition, he required them to recheck and assess provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) in 2018 for appropriate solutions.

Reportedly, in Q1, 2019, especially on the Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, the province spent VND499.5billion on social welfare activities. The province built and upgraded 9 gratitude houses worth VND600million; constructed 28 “great unity” houses worth VND2.6billion…Besides, province-based enterprises joined hands with trade unions at all levels to take care of workers. After the Tet festival 2019, 100% of province-based enterprises have resumed their operation with 97% of laborers coming back to work. The province has also given employment consultancy for nearly 19,000 laborers and introduced jobs for 6,118 laborers…
