Province’s export industry exceeds the set plan for 2010

In the first 10 months of 2010, the province’s export turnover reached 6,519.7bln, up 23.2% compared to the corresponding period of last year. Of the total figure, the domestic-invested sector gained US$1,332.4mln while the foreign-invested sector achieved US$5,187.3mln. It is estimated that the province’s export turnover this year reaches US$8.294trillion, increasing by 23.5% compared to last year’s same period and exceeding 19.7% of the projection. Woodwork industry continues to get the highest export value and stable growth

 One of the most highlighted features is that the province’s hi-tech products and farm produce, which saw export decrease in the previous years, have gained high export growth this year, including electric wire and cable up 23.5%, electric products up 24.1%, rubber latex up 71.4%, pepper up 49/4%...This has contributed to promoting the local export growth and exceeding the set plan for 2010.

Two thirds of the province’s products with high export value have also maintained stable growth, comprising of footwear up 5.8% and woodwork up 5.3%. As of late October, the garment and textile sector’s export turnover exceeded US$1bln, which is seen as a great success. The whole province has so far had 1,600 businesses directly exporting their products to 183 countries and territories in the world.

Possibly speaking, province-based businesses have tried to overcome difficulties and made important contributions to the export growth of the province this year. Nguyen Thi Hong Van, director of Dai Hong Phat Private Enterprise in Thuan An district said that Dai Hong Phat this year has boosted trade promotion, further improved product patterns…, contributing to making high export growth compared to last year.

 Meanwhile, Minh Phuong Woodwork Co. has been very deliberate in selecting orders, cutting unnecessary costs, implementing development plans…, helping the company stabilize its production and export activities, said company director Huynh Van Hanh.

 According to provincial People’s Committee, this year’s export result is the faith for the province to implement the export plan 2011 towards stable and sustainable growth. To achieve the target, the province will further speed up trade promotion activities to expand its export market; give support to businesses in raising the quality and value of products, especially key export ones…
