Province strengthens inspection of Tet goods, says provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Tran Thanh Liem

Provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Tran Thanh Liem, on Dec.20, presided over a meeting to hear the report of members from the local Steering Board 127 on implementation of the Plan No.44 inspecting the consumer goods market before, during and after the Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday 2013.

Reportedly, the province has excelled at inspecting and preventing illegally transported goods, as well as counterfeit and low-quality products. At the meeting, delegates presented many suggestions to beef up the fight against trade fraud and sale of fake goods of the consumer goods market before, during and after the Tet holiday.

Addressing the meeting, Mr.Liem said that there is always an influx of illegally transported goods, as well as counterfeit and low-quality products by the end of the year. Hence, relevant agencies and localities need to beef up the surveillance and inspection of food trade and production establishments; attach special importance to checking the quality of commodities, food hygiene and safety for the consumer goods market for this Tet….
