Provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board congratulated on Lord Buhhda’s birthday

On the afternoon of May 4, a delegation of provincial leaders, led by Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee visited and congratulated provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board on Lord Buddha’s 2564th birthday.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Mr.Hung acknowledged contributions by provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board, Buddhist nuns, monks and followers to the local development over the past time. Especially, provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board seriously guided Buddhist nuns, monks and followers to well realize central and local instructions on Covid-19 prevention while actively coordinating with the local administration to realize social charity activities, contributing to ensuring social welfare. He also said that the pandemic is still complicated, so provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board needs to further mobilize Buddhist establishments, nuns, monks and followers to well realize pandemic prevention. On the occasion of Lord Buddha’s 2564th birthday, he wished provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board, Buddhist nuns, monks and followers good health and a happy festival.

On behalf of the local Buddhist community, Most Venerable Thich Hue Thong, Head of provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board thanked provincial leaders for their profound and sufficient assessments to contributions by the local Buddhist community to the local development as well as Covid-19 prevention over the past time. He added that along with well complying with regulations on Covid-19 prevention, since the beginning of the pandemic, provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board has called on Buddhist dignitaries and followers to contribute around VND3billion to the local social charity activities, sharing difficulties with those who have affected by the pandemic.

*The same day, Nguyen Tan Tuoc, Bishop of Phu Cuong Diocese led a delegation to visit and extend contributions to provincial Buddhist Sangha’s Executive Board on Lord Buddha’s 2564th birthday. He also wanted that the sentiments between Buddhist and Catholics will get closer and closer.
