Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 10/2017 / QD-UBND dated April 17, 2017 regulating state management of geodesic and cartographic and remote sensing activities in Binh Duong province. The decision comes into force on May 15, 2017.
Subjects to this regulation are State management agencies and organizations, individuals involved in geodesic, cartographic and remote sensing activities, exploitation and use of geodesic and cartographic information, map and remote sensing in the province.
According to this provision, geodesic, cartographic and remote sensing activities must ensure the provision of geographic data for socio-economic development, national defense and security, people’s intellectual standards improvement and social advancement enhancement. Geodesic construction works are the property of the State and must be used and protected in accordance with the law. The establishment of specialized mapping products, specialized geospatial databases must use the background layers of national topographic maps, national geographic databases, terrain and geographic database of Binh Duong province.
Department of Natural Resources and Environment is the lead agency and coordinates with related departments, people's committees at district and commune levels to manage geodesic and cartographic and remote sensing activities in the province.
