Sale of goods under price stabilization plan implemented

Provincial executive group for price stabilization has implemented a price stabilization plan for a total volume of goods valued at more VND227.5bln. The whole province now has 55 outlets under the price stabilization plan.

In a bid to stabilizing the prices of essential prices during and after the Tet festival 2011, provincial executive group for price stabilization has carried out a price stabilization plan through 4 businesses with a total volume of goods worth VND227.5bln, including Vinatex Binh Duong supermarket, Citimart Binh Duong supermarket, Hai Long Trade-Services Private Enterprise, Sai Gon-Binh Duong Trade-Services Co.Ltd.

 

These businesses will also implement 40 outlets under the price stabilization plan in remote areas of the province. Nguyen Thi Dien, director of provincial Department of Industry and Trade said that the province’s total retail turnover during the upcoming Tet festival is predicted to increase by 30% compared to the previous year. Hence, increasing the number of outlets under the price stabilization plan in remote areas of the province is very important to ease the pressure on price increase during the upcoming Tet festival…

 

Price controlled items are around 10% cheaper than those on the market

 

According to statistics from province-based supermarkets, since August, the prices of commodities have begun seen sudden increases, owning to the strong fluctuations of the USD rate exchange and gold prices, the increase of input materials…But, participant businesses that their preparation for Tet goods is very stable and there will be an abundant source of Tet goods at the local consumption demand for this year’s Tet market.

 

Mrs.Dien said that these businesses have pledged to stably keep selling prices during the time of realizing the plan. Price controlled items are around 10% cheaper than those on the market. Under the instruction of provincial People’s Committee, provincial Department of Industry and Trade will cooperate with the local functional agencies to regularly make inspection and supervision over business activities in the province to avoid speculation and hoarding of goods that may lead to false scarcity of goods in the local market…
