Scientific research activities to have many practical applications

 To implement the policy of scientific and technological development (S&T) in association with socio-economic development, in recent years, scientific and technological development activities in the province have had many favorable changes. Particularly in 2019, many S&T projects with high applicability were tested and applied into life and production, contributing to the socio-economic management as well as development of the province.

 To build up cultural foundations

 In 2019, Department of Science and Technology acknowledged the results and handed over 9 projects to beneficiaries. Most research projects were highly applicable in practice. For example, a project to propose solutions to developing the landscape on the east bank of Saigon River has become a highlight of Binh Duong cultural identity.

Accordingly, on the basis of the general construction planning project of Binh Duong, Thuan An, Thu Dau Mot and South Ben Cat urban areas, this project proposes solutions to set up waterways architectures and climate change adaptation for the eastern bank of Saigon River. Besides, the project recommends to preserve and promote the value of some traditional spaces of Saigon River's eastern bank (riverside markets, orchards, traditional handicraft villages ...); preserve and promote the value of a number of specific architectural works on the river bank; proposes solutions for planning and managing a number of new tourist spaces ...The project was transferred to provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism being of service to management.

Another project relevant to culture and society is the research and solutions to creating a characteristic architecture planning for some areas of Binh Duong province in the future. This project aims to develop many communities to bring strategic benefits and develop diverse identities for local areas, and bring about high urban economic results, contributing to the economic urban development of the province. The project surveyed the status quo; analyze and assess the situation of the identity-creating elements for each specific region of Binh Duong; propose and apply solutions to create Binh Duong identity in each specific community.

To focus on human resources

Among the research projects recognized and transferred by Department of Science and Technology, there are many topics related to people's lives, human resource education and training, and job creation, which are very suitable to the development practice of the province. For example, the project of enhancing socialization in education - training in Binh Duong province assess the current situation of socialization in the field of education and training in the province in recent years, the orientation of socialization in the coming time; propose solution groups to enhancing socialization, and some specific solutions.

Another project of solutions to improve the quality of labor resources associated with job creation and vocational training according to the labor market in Binh Duong province until 2025, vision towards 2030 was carried out to systematize the fundamental theory of improving the quality of labor resources associated with job creation and vocational training according to the local labor market. In particular, the research focuses on analyzing and assessing the current quality of labor resources associated with job creation and vocational training according to the labor market in the province; and proposed solutions to improve the quality of labor resources associated with job creation and vocational training according to the labor market in the province in period 2018-2020, with a vision towards 2030.

Nguyễn Quốc Cường, Director of Department of Science and Technology, said that in 2020, besides facilitating activities of provincial Community Initiatives and Startup Supporting Center, the department would continue to carry out the scheme to support innovation and startups ecosystem of the country until 2025 and in Binh Duong province in 2017-2020.At the same time, the department will develop S&T potentials, human resources, training and retraining solutions...The department will also strengthen the connection between research institutes, universities and enterprises, departments and branches to place orders for scientific and technological research and development activities; propose, develop mechanisms, policies, and measures to enhance S&T activities of districts, towns and city in the province.

In order to continue well performing the scientific research and technological development tasks in the coming time, Department of Science and Technology will focus on both the quantity and quality of scientific research projects to ensure that scientific-technological development activities increase its applicability, contributing to the construction of an increasingly wealthy and beautiful Binh Duong province.
