Strengthening protection of high-voltage grid corridors to prevent power accidents

On the afternoon of August 17, Nguyen Van Danh, Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee, Head of provincial Steering Committee for protection of high-voltage grid safety and electricity saving chaired a working session with provincial Department of Industry-Trade, Binh Duong Power Company and members of the Steering Committee about the results of the Steering Committee's activities in the first 6 months of 2022.

According to a report by provincial Department of Industry and Trade, the province currently has more than 376km of 110kV power supply and 26 110kV transformer stations with a total capacity of 3,054 MVA, more than 4,646km of 22/12.7kV power lines and 4,773km of 0.4/2.4 power lines. In addition, the whole province has 23,578 distribution transformer stations with a total capacity of 10,812,012 kVA. In the first 6 months of 2022, the local authorities handled 86 wrong cases of the high-voltage grid safety corridor. In addition, there were 7 cases of electrical accidents among people reported, killing 6 people and injuring 2 others...

Speaking at the session, Mr. Danh noted that in the last months of the year, the power sector and localities should strengthen the protection of high-voltage grid corridors to prevent electrical accidents; regularly inspect and review power lines and transformer stations in order to opportunely detect and prevent violations. He also requested the power sector and localities to publicize procedures for electrical safety agreements when constructing works affecting the high-voltage grid safety protection corridor so that organizations and individuals know and follow the rules...
