Striving to improve the province's PAPI

In the afternoon of March 31, at Binh Duong provincial Administration Center, Mr. Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to approve the draft plan to improve and raise the Provincial Public Administration Index (PAPI). Attending the event was leaders of departments, sectors and branches of the province.

The plan sets out the objective of improving the quality of administration, governance and public administration of the government apparatus at all levels and of building a transparent, integrative, effective, efficient and professional administration. At the same time, the plan aims to overcome shortcomings and limitations in the results of the province's PAPI, striving for the province's PAPI in 2022 to be improved and increased in rank compared to previous years. The plan outlines eight key task groups, in which, the participation of the people at the grassroots, transparency, accountability, control of corruption in the public sector, public administrative procedures, provision of public services, environmental governance, electronic administration are among others.

At the meeting, the delegates contributed solutions to improve the PAPI. The Department of Home Affairs needs to have an overall comprehensive survey and then based on the survey results, it would advise specific solutions for improving and strengthening the propaganda combined with supervision and direction, especially in need of the participation of the whole political system to improve the roles and responsibilities of the authorities and grassroots officials to perform services and directly approach the people, tostrengthen the improvement of service attitude and work efficiency of one-stop-shop staff at all levels.

Mr. Vo Van Minh assessed that the draft plan was well prepared and based on the delegates' contributions; the Department of Home Affairs continued to supplement and complete the plan. In the 8 task groups with contents directly related to the interests of the people, it is necessary to focus on accompanying solutions to improve the remaining problems so that people can see and appreciate the determination and government changes.
