National athletes will compete at the 7th World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, in Tujia, Colombia, from December 6–9.
The event will attract 500 athletes representing 50 countries and territories around the globe.
The Vietnamese team’s best hopes for success lie with Tran Dinh Toan and Nguyen Minh Tu in the men’s doubles event and Nguyen Thu Ngan, Chau Tuyet Van, and Nguyen Thi Le Kim in the women’s doubles event.
Vietnam has tasted world championship triumph many times, with Tran Dinh Toan and Nguyen Minh Tu having earned championship titles on three occasions.
In last year’s championships, the national team finished second with 3 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals—a tally only bettered by the Republic of Korea./.(CPV/VOV)
