Before, during and after the 2014 traditional Tet (Lunar New Year) festival, Tan Uyen district held a series of cultural activities in celebration of the Party and Lunar New Year 2014.

They included a spring flower festival at the district’s Center for Culture-Information and Sports from December 26 to January 5 of lunar calendar with more than 100 ornamental trees and flowers on display; a variety show to mark the 84th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930-February 3, 2014); an art performance on Lunar New Year’s Eve with many special items…

The district’s Library also held a spring newspaper exhibition with 100 copies of printed editions and magazines from press agencies nationwide, serving around 2,800 visitors.

Regarding sports activities, the district organized a billiards tournament in celebration of the Party and 2014 Lunar New Year at Ut Bap Billiards Club in Uyen Hung township, absorbing 40 players; a mini-football tournament in celebration of the Party and 2014 Lunar New Year for State employees at Plus football ground in Bisonsi residential estate with the participation of 8 State agencies and units; a Taichi performance festival in celebration of the Party and 2014 Lunar New Year with the participation of 16 units in the district and clubs from HCM city.

Many other cultural and sports activities were also organized across the district before, during and after the 2014 traditional Tet festival.
