Target gained for industrial achievements of Bau Bang District

In the first 9 months of the year, Bau Bang District has implemented and exceeded some targets of economic planning for the year 2015 including 102.8% of the planned industrial production value which was 22% higher than in 2014.

Plenty projects attracted

Implementing direction of the government and provincial People’s Committee and resolutions of district Party Committee and People’s Council regarding economic development, from the beginning of 2015, Bau Bang District People’s Committee has concentrated on implementing programs and plans to attract enterprises to local projects. In 9 months, Bau Bang District attracted 38 investment projects, of which, 35 were domestic projects of registered capital of VND 44.990 billion and 3 foreign investment projects of total registered capital of USD 296.7 million, accummulating to 235 domestic projects of over VND 3,258.9 billion and 42 foreign investment projects of over USD 652.3 million.

Le Khac Tri, Chair of Bau Bang District People’s Committee informed that in 9 months of the year,targets of industrial development in 2015 have been made in the success contributed by local departments, agencies and determined direction of local people’s committee. Besides, the complete infrastructure of Bau Bang Industrial Park has attracted more and more investors to implement their projects including various enterprises of large investment capital namely Polytex Far Eastern (Taiwan) Co. Ltd. for its project covering 99 hectares and intial investments of over USD 274 million.

Up to date, the Bau Bang Industrial – Urban Park has been completed by 99% of compensation and site clearance to ensure available lands for the projects. Nineteen out of 33 roads have been finished; and, a concentrated waste water treatment plant of 4,000 cubic meters per day night was being implemented. Currently, over 50% of Bau Bang Industrial Park areas have been leased to enterprises and investors.

“Aside from the preparation of meeting all essential conditions for investors at Supporting Industry Zone within Bau Bang Industrial Park of 300 hectares upon effective Transpacific Partnership (TPP), the district authority has been demanding for approval to develop additionally 1,700 hectares of land for industry and 1,300 hectares more for development of urban spaces and services. This is the foundation for Bau Bang District to construct harmonious infrastructure framework to develop industry with development of urban and services,” added Tri.

Infrastructure development to be enhanced

Aside from the facilitation and construction of investment environment and effective administrative reforms to attract investors, Bau Bang District, recently, has promoted infrastructure development to enforce attractiveness upon projects of scale locally.

According to Le Thanh Tam, the Deputy Chair of Bau Bang District People’s Committee, to facilitate operations of investors, the district, for the time to come, would make asphalt streets and propose to the province to develop inter-connecting route of My Phuoc – Tan Van (extended to Bau Bang District), Vanh dai 5, etc. to service industrial development of the district.

Besides, Bau Bang District will also coordinate with investors to implement projects of industrial infrastructure development as approved by the province and promote local traffic projects to enable easy connection and transportation.

Bau Bang District leaders disclosed that nearly VND 604 billion (over VND 313 billion of the budget, over VND 286 billion from Becamex IDC, etc.) has been paid for social infrastructure. Infrastructure facilities have been great problems for a newly established district; however, funding has been made for National Highway Number 13 and expansion of DT741B, DT749A, DT749C, and DT750 streets; approvals for investment capital supplementation to medical, schooling, and market place construction have been applied for at provincial level to meet the demands of investors and local people.
