Tet gifts presented to the poor

*Under the 2015 Tet program for the poor and Agent Orange victims, Di An town’s Red Cross Society and its affiliates have mobilized businesses and donors to present more than 4,000 gifts worth more than VND1.4bln to those who are not able to return home for Tet.

*Early February 2, Di An town’s Youth Union held a get-together and presented Tet gifts to 294 pupils with difficult circumstances from 25 local primary and secondary schools. Each gift is worth VND400,000, extracted from the fund of the “Small Plan” program launched by the town’s Young Pioneer Organization in the 2014-2015 academic year.

Prior to that, the town’s Youth Union also visited and presented 227 Tet gifts worth VND100,000 each to children at town-based charity classes.

*Thuan An town, on February 10, held a program giving Tet gifts for needy workers.

Accordingly, 1,200 gifts worth more than VND600mln were presented to workers who are not able to return home for Tet in wards of Binh Chuan, An Phu and firms in the town.

The town also donated 81 bus tickets worth more than VND100mln to workers with extremely difficult circumstances. As part of the program, the town will give 200 gifts worth VND140mln for workers and armed forces on New Year’s Eve.

*Phu Giao district’s Red Cross Society has just presented 122 Tet gifts funded by donors to the local poor people and Agent Orange victims. Each gift is worth VND300,000, including rice, instant noodle, confectionary, cooking oil…
