The green summer calls

The 2022 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign will be organized widely and integrated with political tasks, actual demands of each locality and unit. Tasks and projects of the youth carried out by all levels of Youth Union in this campaign will be practical achievements to welcome the 11th Provincial Congress of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Communist, progressing to the 12th National Congress of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Animated events among students

In first days of June, many youth teams of Tan Uyen Town Youth Union were present at the 10th grade entrance exam’s testing sites of Huynh Van Nghe High School, Thai Hoa High School and Tan Phuoc Khanh High School. Team members were youth union members and assisted students during the exam. Colorful painted banners of greetings and cheers were organized to motivate contestants; bottles of water were given in sunny afternoons after each tests... Around 4:00 p.m., it suddenly rained, volunteers were on duty with umbrellas to protect contestants from the rain leaving exam rooms...

"Relaying the exam season" was one of many summer youth volunteer activities of Youth Unions that took place during the grade 10 entrance exam and the national high school graduation exam. In addition to establishing squads, Youth Unions of districts, towns and cities in the province also coordinated to implement a series of career guidance programs for 12^th-grade students to help them be more confident as taking the exam.

Every summer comes, the heart of young volunteers is excited by the "Green Summer" campaign when they come to remote areas in and outside the province with an optimistic spirit of youth and wish to do useful things for life. This year's "Green Summer" campaign brings together students in the province to Tho Chu island district (Kien Giang province) and the journey "Binh Duong Youth act for the home island sea".

In addition, Youth Unions, Students’ Unions of universities, colleges and junior colleges established "Green Summer" teams in disadvantaged localities outside the province, and organized practical volunteer activities in each locality of the province.

Enthusiasm of the youth

Tran Bao Lam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, said: "The summer youth volunteer campaign is widely held and the focus is on promoting the volunteer spirit of young people in the province to taking in meaningful activities, help the community, people in need, and build up localities. In particular, campaigns of "Red Phoenix Flower", "Pink Holiday", "Green March" are specific activities carried out simultaneously by Youth Union at all levels to spreading the values of volunteer spirit in the community. These are also good results for union branches to welcome the 11th Provincial Youth Union Congress, progressing to the 12th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, tenure 2022-2027."

For the "Red Phoenix Flower" campaign, grassroots Youth Unions carried out activities to show gratitude, organized journeys to historic addresses, performed social security activities to care for disadvantaged people, planted and cared for trees; there were also activities to equip students with social practical skills, defensive skills, prevention of school violence, practical experience for students.

Besides, volunteer campaign "Pink Holiday" among young workers, young civil servants was carried out with key activities, such as: "Green Sunday", "Saturday volunteer to solve administrative procedures for the people", lighted candles to pay tribute to martyrs; journeys to connect young workers. In this campaign, the organizers helped and supported young workers, children having difficult circumstances; and organize the "Journey following the footsteps of heroes" to take care of policy families, heroic Vietnamese mothers, families with meritorious services to the revolution ...

The volunteer summer is also green with the "Green March" campaign in the armed forces. The activity named "Coalition of three shirt colors" became a beautiful image of the campaign with a solidarity spirit and contributed to the upgrading and renovation of rural roads, canals, meeting and playing spots for children; helped people having difficult circumstances. With the requirement to utilize specialty of each young people group, the summer youth volunteer campaign 2022 will continue to gather young people to participate in socio-economic development; building new rural areas, civilized cities.
