Thu Dau Mot City People's Council holds year-end session and new appointment

During two days (17 and 18 Dec), Thu Dau Mot City People's Council held the 16th session of the City People's Council tenure 2016-2021. Attending the meeting were Vo Van Minh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee. 

In 2020, the socio-economic situation of the city faced many difficulties and challenges due to negative impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. The city implemented a dual goal: to take measures to prevent and combat epidemic and stimulate socio-economic development at the same time. The city has fulfilled and exceeded 38/44 targets, 6/44 targets are almost achieved according to Resolution of the City People's Council. Namely, business and trade activities in the city continued to develop; the urban renovation and management of urban order were well maintained, the number of construction order violations decreased compared to the previous year; the campaign to build cultural lifestyles, urban civilisation was actively supported by the people... 

In 2021, the City People's Council set a general goal to solve difficulties, overcome limitations, and implement solutions to promote economic growth according to the structure: Services - industry and urban agriculture; give priority to high-quality services, improve the quality of living environment and urban landscape in a sustainable direction; to continue investing in socio-economic infrastructure accompanied by urbanization, building smart cities, and urban renovation; develop education and training, improve the quality of human resources to meet the requirements of socio-economic development...

At the meeting, the City People's Council conducted additional electoral procedures for the title of Chairman of the City People's Committee for Nguyen Thu Cuc, Acting Chairwoman of Thu Dau Mot City People's Committee. As a result, Ms. Cuc was elected as Chairwoman of Thu Dau Mot City People's Committee 2016-2021.
