Thu Dau Mot Party Committee - 75 years of development journeys

Yesterday (September 11), Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee organized a seminar on "Thu Dau Mot Party Committee - 75 years of development journeys". The seminar went into depth, comprehensively analyzing results done by Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee over the past 75 years, affirming achievements and lessons learned through 75 years of practice, suggesting orientations and solutions for the local development in the coming time.

Developing as a "magnet"

The seminar included 2 topics: Topic 1 on "Leadership for economic - cultural - social development, national defense - security towards building up a civilized, rich, beautiful and modern city"; Topic 2 on "Tradition, experience and practical issues in building the Party and political system of Thu Dau Mot city".

For the topic 1, Nguyen Van Dong, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee affirmed that during the past 75 years, especially after 11 years of becoming a city, along with achievements in Party building work, Thu Dau Mot has had significant development. The city’s socio-economic life has constantly developed with the average income at nearly VND 180 million per person per year. The city has also led in many emulation movements in districts, towns and cities. The city is also in the top cities under the province with high
State budget contributions.

Along with outstanding achievements and proud milestones during the 75-year journey of construction and development, Thu Dau Mot is also facing many difficulties. Therefore, the city really needs contributive ideas from scientists, leaders, former leaders of the province and the locality over periods for the local next journey.

Speaking at the seminar, Dr. Tran Van Loi, former Pernament Vice-Chairman of provincial People's Committee, former Secretary of Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee said that after the ups and downs of history, Thu Dau Mot is still steadfast in the position of a central city, where the Party and government agencies of the province are located, is the "face" to organize welcoming activities, national and international events. Thu Dau Mot is developing multi-dimensionally, developing as a "magnet" attracting development investment resources, from banking and finance to urban industry and investment in socialization of education and healthcare.

Another mark of Thu Dau Mot city is the very rapid rate of urbanization. Since 2017, Thu Dau Mot has been recognized as a first-class city under the province. The result come from the efforts by the city’s Party Committee and government in uniting and working together to turn guidelines and policies into favorable conditions for development while being dynamic and flexible to turn "difficult" things into the “easy” ones…

Nguyen Phuc Lam, former Head of provincial Party Committee's Organization Commission, former Chairman of Thu Dau Mot city’s People's Committee said that Thu Dau Mot city has a leading role in creating motivation for the socio-economic development of the province. Thu Dau Mot in the past, present and future is always closely linked with the development of Binh Duong, being not only because of its geographical location, being not only for the concentration of many provincial-level administrative- political agencies, many important economic establishments, but also bearing the value and role of "the identity, the image representative of Binh Duong" when introducing to friends everywhere. Every street, every face of the city's people represents the image of "Binh Duong people" to friends, tourists, and investors.

Bond between the Party and people is blood and flesh

Speaking at the 2nd topic report, Assoc. Prof. - Dr. Nguyen Quoc Dung, Director of the Academy of Politics Region II affirmed that each mark and achievement of Thu Dau Mot proves the right and wisdom leadership of the local Party Committee, the close bond between the local Party Committee and people. The results of the workshop will be an authentic source of documents, strengthening political trust and providing scientific arguments, helping the city’s Party Committee receive suggestions and recommendations from experts, scientists, researchers, former leaders of the Party and government... in order to apply them to leadership and management to carry out the local political tasks flexibly, creatively with the highest efficiency.

The seminar will help the city’s Party Committee propose a resolution to continue leading the construction and development of the city, especially in the field of building the Party, building a strong political system at requirements in the new situation, being capable of leading the city's socio-economic development, national defense and security, building up a smart, civilized, rich, beautiful and modern city.

Speaking at the seminar, Nguyen Minh Giao, former Head of provincial Party Committee's Propaganda-Education Commission, former Vice-Secretary of Thu Dau Mot city’s Party Committee proudly said that looking back at the stages of the city’s Party building over the past 75 years has shown that no matter what conditions or circumstances, the work of building the Party and developing the Party organization from small to large, from weak to strong levels, is never separate from the mass movement. It is the flesh and blood bond between the Party and the people. And the people's trust and love for the Party have made the Party become the nucleus, creating the successful leadership factor for all revolutionary tasks during the development process...
