Thuan An town, Phu Giao district mark 30th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day

Early Nov.19, the People’s Committee of Thuan An town grandly held a get-together to review the good traditions of the education and training sector over the past time on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (Nov.20, 1982-Nov.20, 2012).

Upholding the good traditions of the education and training sector, cadres and teachers in Thuan An town over the past time made more efforts in improving the quality of education. The town’s sector of education and training also reached positive changes in the movements of “good teachers”, “good pupils” and many other emulation movements. The whole town now has 12 meritorious teachers and 21 out of 43 public schools meeting national standards.

At the get-together, 10 excellent collectives and 5 provincial-level emulation soldiers were also honored and awarded the certificates of merit from provincial People’s Committee (photo).

Participants reviewed the traditions of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day and affirmed Vietnamese people’s “fondness for learning” , “revering teachers and scholarship” traditions.

Upholding the above traditions, over the past years, particular in the 2011 and 2012 academic year, Phu Giao district’s education and training sector reached encouraging results. The ratio of pupils dropping out of school reduced to below 1.5%; the ratio of repeaters was below 5%; there was an increase in terms of the number of good pupils and teachers. The district also fulfilled universalization of secondary education…

On this occasion, the district’s education and training sector also awarded the certificates of merit to collectives and individuals who gained excellent achievements in the 2011 and 2012 academic year.
