On August 17, Nguyen Van Danh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting to hear a report on the progress of the project on preserving and developing Tuong Binh Hiep lacquer village in combination with tourism in Thu Dau Mot (referred to as the project).

According to the report, the People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot City is currently checking and editing the local adjustment dossier of the zoning plan at the rate of 1/2000 according to comments of the departments, agencies and branches. The city also implemented the 1/500 detailed planning Tuong Binh Hiep craft village. People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot City also conducted a survey and developed a plan to install a welcome gate system (instruction signs) into the Conservation and Development Zone of Tuong Binh Hiep Lacquer Village...

At the meeting, Thu Dau Mot City People's Committee advised Provincial People's Committee to divide into two investment phases as implementing the project. Specifically, phase 1 (2023-2025) will implement items on roads of Tuong Binh Hiep ward, technical infrastructure of lacquer villages and gates, fences, museums, exhibition area, performance area, souvenir shops... with an estimated cost of 125 billion VND. Phase 2 (after 2025) will execute items of wastewater treatment area, service area... with estimated cost of 49 billion VND.

Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Van Danh asked the People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot City to review and adjust the project based on the opinions of departments and branches, clearly state the objectives, stages, form of investment, allocation of capital... to ensure the purpose of preserving and developing Tuong Binh Hiep Lacquer Village in combination with tourism and ensuring the feasibility of the project. At the same time, he suggested the implementation of specific contents in 2022 to show the political determination of the province; departments, branches and associations to coordinate and support People's Committee of Thu Dau Mot City in the implementation process of the project.
