Traffic connection for development
On the afternoon of June 15, Vo Van Minh, Chairman of the provincial People's Committee had a meeting in Di An city with Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh city on connecting transport infrastructure between the two localities. Attending were leaders of the city Party Committee, People's Committees of Di An city, Thuan An city and Thu Duc city and leaders of a number of departments and branches of the two localities.
At the meeting, the two localities informed and discussed the traffic development plans connecting Thu Duc city with Di An city and Thuan An city. Representatives of leaders of the Departments of Transport and Communications of the two provinces briefly reported on the planning and results of working between the two localities on connecting transport infrastructure for socio-economic development.
The representative of Thu Duc city also presented a proposal to connect traffic at 5 key locations with Di An city and Thuan An city to create synchronization and relieve traffic pressure in the area, especially on the provincial Road 43, Song Than intersection, and Dao Trinh Nhat route connecting with An Binh ward in Di An city. The delegation of Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh city also had a survey on the Ho Chi Minh city - Chon Thanh expressway in Thu Duc city and the Song Than - Pham Van Dong intersection.
The two localities also discussed and agreed on a number of issues on raising the static height of Binh Trieu 1 bridge and Binh Phuoc 1 bridge to facilitate the transportation of goods on the Saigon River. Leaders of the two localities also discussed proposals for the location of the bridge over the Saigon River on Vanh Dai 4 - Ho Chi Minh city, Song Than intersection project and project of upgrading and expanding An Binh road and connecting bridge to Song Than overpass to National Highway 1A, Some roads that have been built by Di An city and are being built are not yet able to connect traffic to National Highway 1A. During the meeting, the delegations of Ho Chi Minh city and Binh Duong surveyed the Ho Chi Minh city - Chon Thanh expressway in Thu Duc city, the Song Than - Pham Van Dong intersection. The Ho Chi Minh city - Chon Thanh expressway is 60.4 km long, of which the section through Binh Duong is 53.3 km long. The section leading from the Go Dua intersection to the Vanh Dai 3 is 8.8km long has a part of 1.6 km in Ho Chi Minh city.

Leaders of Binh Duong province and Ho Chi Minh city have agreed on the development of transport connections between the two localities.
Leaders of the two localities also discussed plans to relieve traffic pressure in areas adjacent to Ho Chi Minh city, including a proposal to build Tan An bridge to solve the situation. Traffic congestion in the area of provincial Road 8 through Phu Cuong bridge connecting with Huynh Van Cu street, at the same time, opens up urban development space in the area. This is considered an important and very necessary project. The investment into upgrading and expansion of section from Vinh Binh bridge to Le Hong Phong street of 13.7km long to be 8 lanes of National Highway 13 is to relieve traffic pressure on the route and meet the needs of urban development of Binh Duong. Vanh Dai 3 is also being urgently implemented by Binh Duong province in terms of compensation and clearance and is expected to start construction at the end of June as planned.
Speaking at the meeting, Phan Van Mai suggested that Ho Chi Minh city departments and branches urgently implement the contents that the two localities have agreed on without justifying delays. However, during the implementation process, certainly arising need to regularly be solved and removed by solutions of both sides. Phan Van Mai also agreed with 5 proposals to connect key traffic between Thu Duc city and Di An city, Thuan An city and proposed to review and include in the medium-term plan or the coming time. Ho Chi Minh city wished to expand the connection of the Saigon River between the two localities, especially on the Saigon River route through District 12, Hoc Mon District, Cu Chi District with great hope that the two localities will share the initial connection points as well as propose ideas to develop wharves, bridges and ports on the Saigon River basin.
Phan Van Mai also hoped that in the coming time, the two localities would continue to promote propaganda to mobilize people to reach a high consensus on the work of clearing compensation for projects. The enhancement of transport infrastructure connection is to remove the bottleneck to create a driving force for development not only for the two localities but also for the Southern Key Economic Region.
Meanwhile, Vo Van Minh said that Ho Chi Minh city and Binh Duong are both localities with traffic hubs with many arterial roads passing through such as Vanh Dai 3, Vanh Dai 4, Ho Chi Minh - Chon Thanh, highway to Moc Bai border gate. The expansion of transport connections between the two localities will create a driving force for development for localities and for the whole southern region. The two localities also agreed on a detailed zoning plan in the three neighboring cities of Thu Duc, Di An and Thuan An in order to create a synchronous and connecting plan between localities.
