Tuong Hiep communal house recognized as provincial-level historical and cultural relic

On October 26, Thu Dau Mot city’s People's Committee in coordination with provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held a ceremony to receive provincial-level historical and cultural relic certificate for Tuong Hiep communal house.

Tuong Hiep communal house is located in Hiep An ward’s quarter 8 in Thu Dau Mot city. This is a communal house with beautiful architecture, built around the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and is a place for religious activities of the old community of Tuong Hiep village (now being Hiep An ward). With the history of hundreds of years, Tuong Hiep communal house has become a relic containing many historical, cultural, scientific, architectural and artistic values in ​​association with the formation and development of this land. From these values, Tuong Hiep communal house has been ranked as a provincial-level historical-cultural relic by provincial People's Committee under the Decision No. 2068/QDUBND dated August 15, 2023.

Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Thanh Phong, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed Thu Dau Mot city and Hiep An ward to establish a management team for Tuong Hiep communal house while setting up regulations to protect and promote the value of the relic; strengthen preservation and restoration activities of the relic, especially internal wooden structures to prevent deterioration and increase the longevity of the relic; promote propaganda, education and raise awareness of people from all people in preserving and promoting the value of the relic...
