“Veterans helping each other in economic development” movement under review

Early Mar.23, Dau Tieng district’s Veterans Association forwarded a conference to review the five-year implementation of the “Veterans helping each other in economic development” movement from 2011 to 2016.

The district’s Veterans Association and its affiliates actively promoted the movement among officials and members, bringing considerable results. Over the past five years, the association also disbursed loans from the Fund of the National Program on Job Creation for members with total outstanding loans of VND340mln. The whole association now has a total of 28 farms, generating jobs for 245 laborers. Also during the past time, the number of poor members reduced to 7. The association also actively responded to the new rural construction movement by concrete activities such as building bridges, making rural roads, installing lighting systems with total expense of more than VND100mln…

In the coming time, the district’s Veterans Association and its affiliates will strive to reduce 50% of poor members and 90% of near-poor households; well uphold existing loans and tap other many sources with total outstanding loans of more than VND50bln; opened training courses for members…
