Vietnam Family’s Day: Warm family meals

That was the theme of Vietnam Family’s Day 2016 to promote the role of family in cultivating personalities, conserving and upholding fine traditional culture, propagate domestic violence prevention… Celebrating 15th anniversary of Vietnam Family’s Day, many activities to connect loves have taken place across the province to uphold profound human values ​​of Vietnamese family.

Joining hands for Vietnamese families

In recent years, family works have been identified as one of four key areas of cultural, sports and tourism sector. Thus, family works and domestic violence prevention in the provinces have received much attention from provincial Party, government, and units. Family works have many good changes, many propaganda and education activities of domestic violence prevention have been performed effectively, thereby, facilitating the cultivation of well-off, progressive, happy families, the construction of abundant, healthy cultural life at localities and units.

 

Binh Duong families competed in culinary competition at the 7th Southeastern Family Day 2016

In 2015, provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued annual Plan for carrying out family works with 13 key tasks. The department directed Culture and Information Office of provincial localities to implement programs and tasks. Besides, the department developed a plan for maintaining and expanding 3 models at 9 localities; gave training, monitored the implementation process. Accordingly, propaganda activities were organized in various forms, expressing a high sense of responsibility of agencies and organizations as well as local authorities in the province.

An animated festive day

On occasion of the 15th anniversary of Vietnam Family’s Day (Jun 18th 2001 - Jun 18th 2016), all parts of the province have organized various activities to uphold profound human values ​​of Vietnamese family. With the theme " Warm family meals”, this year activities were to enhance the role of family in families in cultivating personalities, conserving and upholding fine traditional culture, propagate domestic violence prevention, gender equality, educating on Vietnamese woman’s virtues in the accelerated industrialization and modernization process.

One of the most anticipated activities was the Southeastern Family Day. Mr. Le The Hung, Head of Cultural lifestyle and family development Office under Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism, said at this year’s festival, Binh Duong had 21 families representing 7 Southeastern provinces and regions. Binh Duong particularly had 3 cultural families taking part in the festival: Mr. Nguyen Van Nhan and Ms. Tran Thi Minh (North Tan Uyen District), Mr. Nguyen Long Giang and Ms. Nguyen Thi Luu (Bau Bang District), and Mr. Bien Thanh Liem and Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chi (Dau Tieng District) and their family. Especially, at the culinary contest “Family meal connecting loves”, families of Binh Duong province prepared 4 dishes suffused with love and won the 4th team prize.

Earlier, Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism organized a contest of Building a happy family clubs at provincial Cultural – Movies Center. 9 clubs from districts, towns and city in the province had an opportunity to meet, interact, share experiences and compete in competitions of introduction, skits, and presentations (handling situations). At the end, Thuan An Town excellently won the first team prize and will represent the province to take part in the national contest in Aug in Quang Nam province.

Besides, trade unions, agencies, units, communes, wards and towns, supermarkets and commercial centers in the province organized diverse activities, like: culinary contest, Vietnam Family Day, cultural families’ exchange, discussion on family affairs, children painting contest… Diverse and meaningful activities will help families to learn useful and practical knowledge of building happy family, forming good nucleus to jointly promote human values of the fine traditional culture for future generations.
