Vietnamese cuisine is being served at the 26th Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT), which is currently underway in the capital city of Russia.

This is the first time Vietnam has introduced traditional cuisine at the MITT, including classic dishes like “nem ran” (fried spring roll), “pho bo” (beef noodle soup) and “bun cha” (noodles with grilled pork).

Deputy Director General of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ngo Hoai Chung said Vietnamese cuisine is a key tourism product. Therefore, street food and traditional dishes of Vietnam are presented at the MITT 2019 to entice more Russian and international tourists to visit the country and explore Vietnamese food, he added.

The MITT is the largest and longest running travel exhibition in Russia. This year’s edition takes place on March 12-14 in Moscow, drawing more than 1,800 companies from 54 countries and territories worldwide.

Hoang Huu Loc from Saigontourist travel company said Russia is a traditional tourism market of Vietnam. By attending the event, the company expects to maintain relations with its partners and seek new ones.

Russia is the European nation with the highest number of tourists travelling to Vietnam, with the longest duration of stay and highest spending. In 2018, more than 600,000 Russians visited Vietnam, making it the sixth largest market of the country’s tourism.
