The contest ended successfully after running more than a month from April 13 to May 17.
The second prize is given to Nguyen Trung Nghia from the Nantes chapter for the photo “Spring garden” and the third prize is given to "Students’s guitar” by Pham Phuong Thao from the La Rochelle chapter.
The board of examiners decide to grant the consolation prize to the photo “Vietnamese girl” by Nguyen Duy Anh from the Rouen chapter.
Photo “Spring garden” by Nguyen Trung Nghia wins the second prize (Photo: UEVF)This is the first and largest photo contest of the Vietnamese Student Associations in France, being held to strengthen solidarity and exchange between students’ chapters and overseas Vietnamese students in France, and to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France, and the cultural exchange year between the two countries from 2013 - 2014.
The contest creates a playground for amateur photography students from 18 provinces and cities around France including Rennes, Nantes, Orléans, Tours Blois, Rouen, Le Mans, Angers, Caen, Nice, Reims, Bordeaux, Lyon, Montpellier, Strasbourg, La Rochelle, Aix-Marseille, Toulouse and Pau.
After just two weeks of being posted on Facebook, the contest has attracted around 200,000 visitors to see photos, comment and exchange. The contest is divided into three rounds.
“Students’ guitar” by Pham Phuong Thao win the third prize (Photo: UEVF)According to Nguyen Hoang Tan, co-chief of the organizing board, vice president of the students’ council at Rouen, member of the UEVF executive committee, the contest had created a buzz among overseas Vietnamese students in France, contributing to promote the image of overseas Vietnamese students in France, as well as encouraging Vietnamese students in French cities to connect with each other.
The beautiful and artistic photographs will be displayed at an exhibition by UEVF or some Vietnamese cultural exhibitions on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and France./.
