VISIP – an attractive destination for investors

Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VISIP) has reached remarkable results with a 170%increase of this year’s plan.  a corner of VISIP II.

Remarkable results

VISIP management board vice head Ly Hung, said since the start of this year there are additional US$508 million of foreign investment capital poured into local VISIPs, a 135.3% rise from the same period last year and reaching 169.4% of 2011’s plan. Of these, 16 new projects have a total investment capital US$271.3mil and 28 capital-added ones, capitalized at $237mil. In addition, the management board has granted investment licenses to 2 local projects worth VND58bil.

VISIPs including VISIP I, VISIP II and VISIP IIA have so far lured 412 foreign projects, capitalized at $3.5bil. Of these, VISIP I founded in 1996 on an area of 500ha in Thuan An town has lured 240 projects, capitalized over $2bil, VISIP II founded in 2006 on an area of 345ha has lured 132 projects with the total capital of $1bil and VISIP IIA has lured 40 investors.

Aside from luring investors, VISIPs in Binh Duong have gathered many big projects including Mapletree Group’s logistics area, Hoyalen Company’s contact-lenses production plant, Yokohama Company’s tire production plant, Unilever Vietnam’s distribution center and so on.

Businesses express their satisfaction

“VISIPs have a well-prepared infrastructure facility. Finecs chooses VISIP 1 for its investment. Besides, VISIP adjoining the HCMC has advantages of hi-quality manpower and transport”, said Finecs Group’s rep.

Recently, Peter Emil Romhild, general director of TBC Ball Beverage Can Vietnam Ltd. said that investors’ initial success lies in choice of proper investment climate. After a survey, TBC Ball Beverage Can Vietnam Ltd. selected VISIP because of good infrastructure facility.

A rep of Mapletree Group highly valued VISIP’s advantages and said that the group’s investment in VISIP is a right decision because VISIP has met international investors’ requirements. Thanks to the well-prepared infrastructure facility, VISIPs are valued as the whole country’s exemplary industrial parks.

Possibly speaking, after 15 years of foundation and development VISIPs in Binh Duong have become Vietnam’s leading industrial parks, meeting requirements of infrastructure facility and creating an attractive climate for investors.
