Vo Van Ba elected as Chairman of provincial Lawyers' Association

On August 22, provincial Lawyers' Association held its 6th Congress for the 2024-2029 term. The congress was attended by Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly Deputy Delegation; Nguyen Van Quyen, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Vietnam Lawyers' Association; Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee, along with representatives from some provincial departments, agencies and mass organizations.

During the last term, provincial Lawyers' Association successfully completed all aspects of its work; continuously innovated forms and contents on law dissemination among people, businesses and workers, achieving positive results; participated in monitoring and providing feedback on legal implementation, particularly in protecting the interests and rights of women and children; admitted 302 new members, bringing the total number of members to 702. The congress elected a new Executive Committee of the 6th provincial Lawyers' Association for the 2024-2029 tenure with 23 members and a standing committee of the association with 6 members. Lawyer Vo Van Ba, former Head of provincial Commission for Internal Affairs was elected as Chairman of provincial Lawyers' Association for the 2024-2029 term.

Speaking at the congress, Mr. Ha urged provincial Lawyers' Association to quickly implement the tasks set out by the congress, set up annual plans based on the directives of Vietnam Lawyers’Association and the  local actual situation. He also emphasized the importance of continuing effectively implementing the Politburo’s Directive No. 14-CT/TW dated July 1, 2022; provincial Party Committee’s Directive No. 23-CT/TU dated August 22, 2022 on strengthening the Party's leadership over the activities of the Lawyers' Association in the province. Furthermore, he called for provincial Lawyers ‘Association to consolidate and develop its organization; have close cooperation with member organizations of provincial Fatherland Front Committee and other mass organizations to contribute to the work of Party and government building at all levels; be proactive to participate in legal building; actively get involved in judicial and administrative reforms.

On this occasion, representatives of the Vietnam Lawyers' Association presented mementoes to three individuals for their contributions to the "Development of the Vietnam Lawyers' Association".
