Voluntary summer to be launched in Dak Nong province

The Youth activities Steering Committee of provincial Business bloc’s Youth Union held the launching ceremony of Youth Volunteer Summer Campaign 2015 in Tuy Duc district, Dak Nong province. To start the campaign, the Steering Committee carried out the program “For the border and island love” and training program for 80 Union staff representing young persons of provincial Business bloc.

Dak Buk So commune in Tuy Duc district is one of the poorest areas of Dak Nong province, because of its remote location adjacent to the border. Most of inhabitants here are ethnic minorities living dispersedly with low literacy levels and having difficult family circumstance. Especially, children here are in lack of many things in both material and spiritual life. Many children have to travel so far to go school.

 Therefore, in the launch ceremony of Youth Volunteer Summer Campaign 2015, provincial Business bloc’s Youth Union visited and offered 20 bicycles worth totally VND25 million to poor studious pupils of Dak Buk So secondary school. The delegation also organized fun games to bring interesting summer days to these children in order to encourage and motivate them to strive for better learning and becoming useful people.

In recent years, provincial Business bloc’s Youth Union launched Youth Volunteer Summer Campaigns with various forms, such as: activities for island love, visiting and giving gifts to Border Station 779 soldiers, border soldiers in Hon Son (Kien Giang province); gratitude activities, visiting and giving gifts to policy families; offering compassionate houses to poor young ones, offering scholarships and notebooks to poor studious pupils; activities to take care of material and spiritual life of youth workers… These activities contributed to impressing voluntary sense, beautiful feelings on people in remote areas, border soldiers, poor children, and young workers.

Mr. Huynh Thanh Tra, Secretary of provincial Business bloc’s Youth Union, said: “This year, to promote community-based activities, the youth of provincial Business bloc organized key activities, such as: presenting bicycles to needy children in Dak Buk So secondary school. We will also give free health check-up, medication to 100 poor people; offer 60 gifts worth VND300,000 each to children in Lai Uyen commune, Bau Bang district. On the other hand, we will continue activities for island love, visit and give gifts to border soldiers on Hon Son, offer presents to children of fishermen on Hon Son island…”

In addition to the volunteer program in Dak Buk So secondary school, provincial Business bloc’s Youth Union organized a visit to Nhan Co Alumina Company, cultural exchange with Dak Nong province Youth Union, training programs for 80 Union staff in order to enhance skills, exchange and learn experiences in Youth Union’s activities organizing, contributing to improve the quality of youth activities and movements.
