Vovinam tournament under the 4th provincial Sports Festival kicks off

The opening ceremony of the Vovinam tournament under the 4th provincial Sports Festival was organized at TDM city’s sporting event hall on the morning of April 25.

Attending the opening ceremony were Tran Van My, Vice-Chairman of the Vietnam Vovinam Federation; leaders of provincial Vovinam Federation and representatives of the Centers for Culture and Sports of districts, towns and TDM city.

At the opening ceremony, leaders of the Vietnam Vovinam Federation awarded the certificates of merit of provincial Vovinam Federation to collectives and individuals for their contributions to the local Vovinam movement.

This year’s tournament has absorbed 137 athletes (including 92 male athletes) from localities with the strongest Vovinam movement: TDM city, Thuan An, Di An, Tan Uyen, Ben Cat towns and Dau Tieng, Phu Giao districts. Participating athletes will race for 31 sets of medals in two events: performance and combat.

According to experts, TDM city and Thuan An town are two brilliant candidates for the championship title of the tournament.
