“Week for Vietnamese goods” program helps encourage movement of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”

The local department of Trade and Industry of just summed up the program of “Week of Vietnamese goods” taking Vietnamese goods to rural areas to cater for people in districts of Tan Uyen, Phu Giao, Ben Cat and Dau Tieng. Possibly speaking, through the market days, businesses have positively spread their products and trademarks to rural customers and encouraged the public to respond the mobilization of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”.

40,000 visitors join market days

The highlighted character of 4 market days in the past Oct. was positive participation of businesses. While CoopMart Suoi Tien, Acecook Ltd., CP Ltd… displayed groups of commodities of rice, instant noodles, confectionary, beverage, Trung Thao Co., Hoang Gia Viet Ltd exhibited items of electric household utensils and so on. At the market days, commodities of ready-to-wear clothes, gas cooker, kitchen utensils, cosmetics, detergent, and toothpaste… were selected by rural people.

Nguyen Huu Ly, vice director of the provincial Center for Trade Promotion and Economic Information, said the total value of goods at the market days amounted to about VND10bil and turnover reached nearly VND3bil. Most of the goods had a discount of 5-30% from the market. According to Ly, the most highlighted thing was that the market days absorbed up to 96 businesses, serving for 40,000 rural customers. Of which, the market day held at Ling Binh primary school in Ben Cat district lured 25 businesses and over 12,000 customers, reaching a turnover of nearly VND900mil.

The success of the market days was thanks to close cooperation of local authorities and positive participation of businesses. Moreover, the organizing board created a harmonic arrangement of stalls plus lively music shows, strongly encouraging the movement of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”.

To spread the program

To spread further the program of taking Vietnamese goods to rural areas and encourage the movement of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”, aside from promulgation, businesses should popularize their products positively.

Ly said “To keep reaping successes of market days in 2011, we map out to mobilize more businesses to join in the market days”.

Dao Ngoc Nu, head of the provincial steering board of the movement of “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnamese goods”, said since the start of this year the program of “Week for Vietnamese goods” has upheld encouraging results. Through the market days, local people learn and believe in Vietnamese commodities. Apart from the market days, the steering board in 2010 asked relevant units to promulgate the program by many various ways. Many seminars were held to improve supportive solutions for domestic businesses for the sake of increasing market share of Vietnamese goods in the local market.
