The provincial Women Union today holds a get-together for its cadres through stages on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vietnam Women Union (Oct. 20, 1930-2010). Activities of women union have over years contributed to local development; Binh Duong Newspaper had an interview with Doan Thi Dieu Hien, chairwoman of the provincial Women Union about this issue.

Along to local development over years, we can’t not help thinking of role of women union, what do you think of this?

In the country industrialization and modernization process, the provincial women movements and activities have been emerged significantly. All level women unions have mobilized members to excel emulation movements of helping together develop homebased business, preventing children malnutrition and building happy families, studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples and so on.

 By efforts of renewal and diversification of activities, gathering women into organizations has reached 62%. The local women’s movements and activities have helped raise capacity and knowledge of women, assisted sister to escape poverty and make wealth legitimately.    

The local Women Union’s achievements have contributed to excel the local goals of socio-economy, defense and security over years. With the mentioned results, the local Women Union was awarded emulation flag for many consecutive years. In 2009, the local Women Union’s collective was awarded first class Labor Order by the State President.

In the various circumstances, Vietnamese women in general and local women in particular affirm their position. What activities did affirm the results?

Thanks to diligence, women dedicate not only to the national liberation but industrialization and modernization process. Sisters know how to improve their difficulties to dedicate to the country and people. The number of women believed by the Party and State and people surged sharply. Specifically, through the past party congress, the ratio of women joining in grassroot authorities reached 23.86%, a 4.81% rise from 5 previous years.

The entire province has emerged numerous excellent female workgroups and individuals awarded by the central and localities.

The year of 2011 will take place many important events relating to women, so what will the local women union do to improve role of women in the new stage as well as to help women improve their life?

The year of 2011 will hold the 11th national Party Congress and Women Congress for the 2011-2016 tenure. Therefore, all level women unions consider the events as a wide political activity.

Besides, the union will boost up promulgation on all level party congress, introduce elite female cadres to all level executive boards, reinforce and enhance the quality of grassroot operation, check, complete and exceed the proposed goals, keep movement of “Women are active in study and labor and building happy family”, the mobilization of “Studying and following Ho Chi Minh’s moral examples”.

In addition, the all level women unions will hold models and programs on supporting loans to help sisters escape poverty and make wealth legitimately.
