Youths with “paying debt of gratitude” movement

Paying tribute to martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers is one of major tasks done by provincial Youth Unions at all levels. “Paying debt of gratitude” aims to express the local youths’deep gratitude to the elders for their sacrifices and contributions to the cause of national construction and defence.

Over the past time, provincial Youth Unions at all levels made dissemination of information about the history and significance of War Invalids and Martyrs’Day, the tradition of “when drinking water, remember its source” via many forms with focus on the content of “Youths paying debt of gratitude”...

Accordingly, the local Youth Union members actively got involved in many significant activities, including cleaning up martyrs’cemeteries, historical relics; visiting and offering gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, war invalids, martyrs’families and revolutinary contributors; burning candles to pay tribute to heroes, martyrs at martyrs’cemeteries...Provincial Youth Unions at all levels held also journeys “following the footsteps of heroes” with such practical activities as building, upgrading charity, gratitude houses for policy beneficiary families; upgrading martyrs’cemeteries, historical relic sites; providing home medical check-up, medicine for heroic Vietnamese mothers, policy beneficiary families and revolutionary contributors...

In addition, provincial Youth Union Standing Committee visited and paid tribute to the local heroic Vietnamese mothers, policy beneficiary families and revolutionary contributors. From now to late July, provincial Youth Union Standing Committee will further organize the 8th provincial “Return-to-the-root” festival, set up delegations to visit and donate gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, policy beneficiary families, revolutionary contributors, former Youth Union officials’families across the province.

Provincial Youth Union also instructed its branches to boost activities paying debt of gratitude. Accordingly, Di An city’s Youth Union held delegations to visit and present gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes of the People's Armed Forces and former youth volunteers while extending best regards, expressing deep gratitude to them for their great sacrifices and contributions to the cause of national construction and defence. The Youth Union branch of the city’s Urban Management Division has just coordinated with the Youth Union branch of Tan Hiep quarter in Tan Binh ward to visit and burn incense to commemorate heroes and martyrs at the monument of Mach Mang stream. The two units also paid a visit to 2 policy beneficiary families in the quarter.

Under the principle of “When drinking water, remember its source”, provincial Youth Unions at all levels have implemented concrete activities paying debt of gratitude to the elders. These activities will boost education about revolutionary tradition, patriotism, national pride among youths as well as their responsibility in the current period. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Xuan, Secretary of provincial Youth Union said that provincial Youth Unions at all levels have always attached special importance to the movement of “paying debt of gratitude”, aming to express deep gratitude to heroic Vietnamese mothers, heroes and martyrs for theri great sacrifices and contributions to the nation...
