Binh Duong Power Company (PCBD) has officially put the upgraded 110kV Khanh Binh transformer station project into operation in the South Tan Uyen Industrial Park in Tan Uyen city.
Do Hoang Son, Deputy Director of PCBD stated that the existing 110kV Khanh Binh transformer station, equipped with two 63MVA transformers, primarily supplies power to South Tan Uyen Industrial Park. However, with the expansion of this industrial park, the increasing load has put both transformers under frequent overload, impacting the quality of power supply in the area. To ensure safe and continuous electricity service, PCBD initiated a project to upgrade the transformer station by adding a new 63MVA transformer. The project has total investment of over VND 44 billion funded by the Southern Power Corporation.
The project was commenced on July 10, 2024. Its completion will promptly address power shortage at the 110kV Khanh Binh transformer station, meeting growing demand in Tan Uyen, Thu Dau Mot cities and surrounding areas from 2022 to 2030; ensure high-quality power for key customers in South Tan Uyen Industrial Park and its expanded areas. Putting the project into use also contributes to strengthening the loop connection with 110kV stations in the 110kV station area of Vinh Hiep and Bau Beo, transferring load back and forth between transformers in the 110kV Khanh Binh station from time to time.
