2nd congress of Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of Binh Duong province opened

Members of the 2nd term executive board of Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of Binh Duong province. 

On Oct. 24, Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of Binh Duong province held the second congress for the tenure of 2014-2019. Attending the congress were Vu Mao, chairman of the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association, Pham Van Canh, vice secretary of the provincial party committee cum chairman of the provincial People’s Council, Tran Kim Van, vice chairwoman of the provincial People’s Council and 144 members.

 

Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Association of Binh Duong province now has 150 members, participating in 9 sub-associations. In the past term, the association held significant activities, contributing to tighten friendship, cooperation on all areas between Binh Duong and Cambodian people.  

In addition, the association held rescue, gift visits to families of victims of Ko-pech bridge collapse in 2010; offered support of US$60,000 for the Kratie province’s people to re-build Kratie market and built 5 kindergarten classrooms at Kratie city and more. The association’s executive board organized homebound journeys for members.  

In the term of 2014-2019, the association sets out orientations of well promoting the done achievements, reinforcing and developing organization and renovating contents and operational forms, grasping opportunities in conformity with new requirements.  

The motto of the new term includes “initiative, flexibility, creation, efficiency” to heighten friendship and cooperation relation between Vietnam and Cambodia people for peace, national independence, democracy and social advance.  

Addressing the congress, Pham Van Canh highly appreciated efforts done by the association’s members in the past tenure. In this term, the association should actively improve quality of information, dissemination on significance and importance of solidarity and friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance.  

The congress participants selected 17 members for the executive board of the 2014-2019 term. Accordingly, Tran Thi Kim Van holds the position of chairwoman of the association.
