With a future vision and strategic plans suitable to the local realities, after 24 years of construction and development, up to now, Binh Duong has become one of the top provinces in the nation in terms of socio-economic development. Today's achievements come from the tireless efforts of the entire political system, the people and the business community, creating a solid foundation for Binh Duong to realize its goal of becoming the center industry and a smart city of the whole nation for the coming time.

High-speed growth maintained

Right from the first day of establishment, with the policy of drastically changing the economic structure towards industry - commerce - service, Binh Duong provincial Party Committee, authority, people and the business community have shown their outstanding determination with the desire to soon turn the locality into an industrial, civilized and modern province. Thousands of hectares of land, mainly poor cultivated land, have been planned to build up modern industrial and residential zones. The provincial authority also focuses on administrative reform and creativity to become flexible in implementing the preferential policies. Thereon, Binh Duong's dynamic image, the open and constantly improving investment environment has quickly become the first choice in the investment destinations sought by businesses, multinational corporations and groups.

The whole province currently has 29 industrial parks on a total area of ​​over 12,000 hectares and 12 industrial clusters with an area of ​​about 1,000 hectares. Up to now, Binh Duong has become the third province in the nation, only after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in attracting foreign investment with over 3,900 projects, holding a total registered capital of USD 34.9 billion. The total number of domestic enterprises registered for business reached 45,500 to hold a total registered capital of about VND 400,000 billion. The province's economy continues to be maintained at a high growth rate of 9.35% per year; competitiveness, potentiality and scale of the economy have been raised markedly. GRDP by 2020 is 1.7 times higher than 2015;  Per capita GRDP is VND 155.7 million, which is higher than the average rate of the Southeast and 2.5 times higher than the national average.  Economic structure continues to shift towards modernity of industry, service, agriculture, and product tax minus product subsidies at 66.53%, 22.78%, 2.51%, and 8.18% respectively. State budget revenue reaches and exceeds both revenue and growth rate by an average annual increase of 11.2%.  By 2019, 100% of communes have qualified by new rural standards to complete the plan 1 year in advance. Binh Duong is considered by the central government as one of the leading localities of success in the cause of industrialization, modernization and urbanization, continually to making important contributions to the southern key economic region and the whole nation.

In 2020, due to the heavy impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the province's economic growth is still much higher than the national average and many provinces in the region. Production and business activities of enterprises and people have been restored and are gradually stabilizing. Trade, services, importation and exportation grew well and have been maintained at a trade surplus of nearly USD 6 billion. Foreign investment capital attraction exceeded 32% of the plan, showing that in the context of complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, Binh Duong is still an attractive and reliable destination of foreign investors.

In parallel with the implementation of economic development tasks, the provincial authority often pays attention to developing cultural and social fields. Social security and social welfare are increasingly expanded and improved, ensuring that all people are cared for to fully and fairly enjoy the achievements from economic development. The quality of people’s lives has been improved. The poverty reduction has gained important achievements. In 2017, Binh Duong was recognized as the first province in the nation to no longer have poor households according to the central standards;  the poverty rate according to the provincial standards is below 1%.

Ready for higher targets

24 years of construction and development, Binh Duong today has become a leader in socio-economic development of the nation. Rapid industrialization, urbanization and modernization have turned the land of bombs in wartime into a reliable address for investors. An agricultural province is now taking the form of an industrial center of the nation. The achievements are very respectful and proud, but Binh Duong provincial Party Committee and authority are not subjective and complacent but they are always looking for and struggling to gain success and create new miracles in the future.

The 11th Resolution of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee Congress of 2020 - 2025 tenure set out the roadmap of striving to build and develop Binh Duong province as a sustainably smart, civilized and modern city; by 2030, Binh Duong would become a modern industrial center, and by 2045 it would be a smart city of the region and the whole nation. That is the goal of expressing Binh Duong's aspiration to rise to deserve the position of the most dynamically developing locality of the nation and a worth-living land of gratitude in the future.

In order to achieve the set objectives, the provincial has implemented specific guidelines and solutions for the immediate future which the year 2021 - a year of important beginnings, laying the foundation for the effective implementation of the Congress Resolution of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 tenure. In order to successfully implement the tasks in 2021, Binh Duong provincial People's Committee has proposed many solutions, including the concentration on implementing the goal of both stable socio-economic development and effective epidemic prevention and control; growth is to be restored and continual economic restructuring in the direction of increasing the proportion of service and industry and stabilizing the proportion of industry is to be promoted; improvement of the quality of growth is to be focused on. Breakthrough objectives, action plans and tasks to implement the 11th Resolution of Binh Duong provincial Party Congress are implemented. Business investment environment and support for businesses to overcome difficulties continue; the construction and disbursement of public investment capital to implement key projects and develop urbanity and services and smart city construction are promoted. Social security, constant improvement of people's lives, development of culture and people are assured; development of human resources in association with science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation are to become the foundation for economic growth. Administrative discipline, organizational structure, streamlined payrolls and administrative procedure reforms are enhanced to prevent corruption and practice thrift while fighting wastefulness. National defense and security, social order and safety are maintained and ensured to improve the efficiency of foreign affairs and international integration.

Holding a tradition of solidarity, diligence, creativity, inheritance and promotion of the achievements in socio-economic development, Binh Duong provincial authority are under determination and efforts to make their aspirations come true and become a rich, beautiful and civilized smart city, meaningful and worth living.
