He has got involved in the orchid-growing model since 2002. Currently, his orchid garden 379 covers more than 1,000 sq.m with more than 8,000 pots of various orchids with a total investment capital amounting to hundreds of millions of dong.

His orchid garden is known by many people. Everyday, his wife Bui Thi Thanh Hien carries orchid pots across the town to buy. According to her, a basket of normal orchid is sold at VND40,000. The price of various beautiful and precious orchids can amount to several millions of dong a big pot.

On the annual Tet festival, his family regularly hires a shop in the center of the town to buy various orchids with the average income of several hundreds of millions of dong. The orchid-growing model has not only helped he and his wife secure a stable life, but also satisfied his passion for various orchids.

The orchid garden 379 of An’s family is now a typical urban agricultural model with high economic efficiency in Di An town’s Dong Hoa ward. For stable development, the model needs to get more support on capital, techniques, consumption market from the local Farmers Associations at all levels…
