Ben Cat’s Steering Board for Collective Economy needs to be further consolidated

On October 7, provincial People’s Committee Vice-Chairman Tran Thanh Liem had a working session with Ben Cat district’s Steering Board for Collective Economy about the local collective economic development.

Ben Cat district is now home to 152 cooperatives with 2,634 members. Of these, there are 39 cooperatives on cultivation, 31 cooperatives on animal husbandry, 15 cooperatives on cultivation in association with animal husbandry, 55 cooperatives on general business, 3 cooperatives on fisheries and 5 cooperatives on the VAC model.

In Ben Cat district, there are now 15 cooperatives with a total chaptered capital of more than VND60bln; 15 cooperatives with 331 members and 571 laborers with regular jobs, in which 80% have reached development during the long time and 35% are the effective models to promote the local collective economic development…

The district has set 2013’s targets of increasing the number of cooperatives by 5% annually and the number of cooperatives with deals certified by the People’s Committee of communes and townships by 20% annually; getting 50% of cooperatives with good operation and 50% with regular operation; having below 10% of weak cooperatives; achieving 100% of cooperatives’ staff trained, including 50% with junior college and university levels.

Addressing the working session, Mr.Tran Thanh Liem asked for Ben Cat district to further consolidate skills on collective economy for members of the district’s steering board; speed up dissemination of information about the goal and significance of collective economy among the local people; widely multiply advanced models on collective economy…
