Binh Duong, Cham-pa-sac strengthens special and comprehensive friendship cooperation

Yesterday morning (August 23), a high-ranking delegation of Binh Duong province, led by Nguyen Van Loi, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation, had a working session with Champasak province’s high-ranking delegation from Laos, led by Vilayvong Bouddakham, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Secretary of the Champasac provincial Party Committee, Governor of the province.

Marking a new development step

At the working session, in the spirit of cooperation, respect and mutual understanding, leaders of the two sides informed each other about the socio-economic development situation of the two localities while summarizing and evaluating the results of cooperation between the two sides in the period of 2016-2021.

According to Vo Van Minh, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People's Committee, over the past time, on the basis of the relationship and signed agreements, the two localities promoted cooperation and friendship exchange activities in many fields of economy, culture, health, education... In the period of 2016-2021, agencies and localities of the two provinces, including Binh Duong provincial Fatherland Front Committee and Champasac provincial Front Committee for national construction; the Departments of Industry and Trade of Binh Duong and Champasak provinces; the People's Procuracies of Binh Duong and Champasac provinces; Thu Dau Mot University and Champasak University; Dau Tieng district’s People's Committee and Ba Chiang district’s Government Committee, actively implemented exchange activities.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Mr.Minh affirmed that Binh Duong will continue strengthening friendly cooperation with Champassak province in many fields, especially the contents that the two sides have exchanged and prepared for signing in the following fields, including researching on modern industrial development policy, planning and construction of industrial parks; cooperating in the field of economy and investment; exchanging academic issues, transfering training programs, continuing supporting training for students of Champassic province in the bachelor's system of Thu Dau Mot University and supporting senior retired officials of Cham-pa-sac province to get medical check-ups and short-term convalescence in Binh Duong...

Cooperation for development and people-to-people exchanges

On the basis of the friendly cooperation agreement and cooperation results in the period of 2016 and 2021, the two provinces signed a cooperation agreement for the period of 2022 and 2026. Accordingly, in the period of 2022-2026, the two provinces will focus on implementing 10 main cooperation contents. In particular, the two sides will organize high-level delegations to visit, work, exchange and learn from each other's experience. The two sides agreed to promote the establishment of a friendly cooperative relationship between the People's Councils of Binh Duong and Champasac provinces, between Thu Dau Mot city and Pakse city. The two sides agreed to continue closely implementing people-to-people diplomacy and people-to-people exchanges between provincial Fatherland Front Committee and Champasak provincial Front Committee for national construction and between friendship associations, business associations of Binh Duong and Champasac provinces. The two provinces cooperate closely in the field of investment, survey about the investment climate between the two sides.

Binh Duong will cooperate and provide professional support to help Champasak province in policy making for modern industrial development, planning and construction of industrial parks. Champasac province continues supporting the survey and planning of land for rubber plantations, requesting the Government to allocate land to Dau Tieng - Viet Laos Rubber Joint Stock Company to successfully implement a project to plant 10,000 hectares of rubber trees in Champasak province, ensuring the supply of raw materials for the rubber latex processing factory in Ba Chiang district. The two sides cooperate, support and create favorable conditions for universities in the two provinces to conduct research, cooperation, academic exchange and transfer of training programs.

Regarding the field of educational cooperation, Binh Duong province continues supporting training for students of Champasak province in the period of 2022-2026 with 20 scholarships at universities every year. Champasac province supports 2 five-year bachelor's degree scholarships for students of Binh Duong province at Champasak University in the period of 2022-2026 and annually supports 2 scholarships studying Lao language within 12 months for students in Binh Duong province. Every year, Binh Duong province will support 10 senior retired officials of Champasak province to check their health and take short-term convalescence.

On this occasion, Vilayvong Bouddakham, Secretary of Champasak provincial Party Committee, Governor of the province presented the certificates of merit from the Governor of the province to 3 collectives, including Binh Duong provincial Party Committee Office, People's Committee Office and Department of Foreign Affairs for their outstanding achievements in cultivating and developing the friendly relationship between the two provinces of Binh Duong and Champasak
