According to information from the Department of Preventive Medicine under Ministry of Health, Binh Duong is in the group of 18 provinces and cities at high risk of measles infection. According to statistics from the provincial health sector, since the beginning of the year, the whole province has recorded 21 cases of measles, with the expanded vaccination rate reaching over 95% of children of vaccination age.

Ho Chi Minh City has declared a measles epidemic and students returning to school, to proactively prevent the disease, the Provincial Department of Health requests medical units to strengthen monitoring, investigation and handling of outbreaks as soon as cases are recorded. The provincial Center for Disease Control has stepped up epidemiological analysis, assessed the development of the epidemic situation, and identified high-risk groups to apply appropriate control measures.

Currently, the provincial health sector has fully arranged measles vaccines to prepare for the measles vaccination campaign according to the plan of the Ministry of Health. The vaccination target is children from 1 to 10 years old, except for those who have been fully vaccinated with 2 doses of measles vaccine before. The vaccines used in this phase are completely free of charge, provided by the World Health Organization (WHO).
