In the chilly weather of the year-end days, the Youth Union levels in the province eagerly volunteer to visit remote, disadvantaged areas to organize activities to care for children and people in difficult circumstances.
To warm the remote areas
Every winter, the youth of Binh Duong travel to Lao Cai, the twinned unit of the Binh Duong Provincial Youth Union, to organize a series of winter volunteer and spring volunteer activities. This year, the youth in the province have donated one rural road lighting project; 800 warm coats, 150 cotton blankets for ethnic minority children and teenagers in difficult circumstances affected by Typhoon Yagi; 5,000 doses of various medicines; 50 gift packages for policy families and people in difficult circumstances; and 15 bicycles for students in need. Additionally, the group organized the preparation of 200 portions of fried chicken meals and 200 gift packages for disadvantaged students. The projects and activities are valued at 730 million VND.
The Thuan An Youth Union organizes the journey of "Winter Volunteer," the program of "Spring Volunteers - Warm Clothes for Children" in Yen Son commune and Ngoc Dong commune, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province
At the Youth Union facilities, various practical activities have been organized to care for children and residents in highland areas. For instance, the Thuan An city Youth Union organized the "Winter Volunteer Journey" and the "Spring Volunteer - Warm Clothes for Children" program in Yen Son and Ngoc Dong communes, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province. During the program, the delegation presented 551 gifts to children and disadvantaged residents, with each gift including warm blankets, socks, boots, sandals, candies, notebooks, coloring pens, and more. Additionally, the Binh Hoa Ward Youth Union donated a water purifier and a water trough worth 12 million VND. The total cost of the journey exceeded 208 million VND.
Nguyen Hoang Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Thuan An city Youth Council, stated that the "Spring Volunteer - Warm Clothes for Children" activity has been annually launched and widely organized by the youth of Thuan An city, bringing practical and sustainable benefits tailored to the needs of each locality and unit. The youth of Thuan An focuses on implementing the program in residential areas with limited economic conditions, organizing volunteer activities that attract a large number of members, young people, and social forces to participate. This year, the meaningful activity was carried out in Yen Son and Ngoc Dong communes, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province. It is hoped that the gifts from the youth of Thuan An city would help alleviate some of the difficulties faced by children and residents in highland areas, motivating them to focus on their studies and encouraging residents to strive for a better life.
Wings to dreams of schooling
Not only did they reach out to remote and far-flung areas at the nation's frontiers, but the Youth Union facilities in the province also focused on supporting disadvantaged individuals in their localities. For example, the Dau Tieng district Youth Union recently collaborated with the Youth Union of Binh Duong Power Company to organize the "Winter Volunteer - Loving Spring" program. As part of this, the delegation implemented the "Wings to Dreams of Schooling" program by donating 10 bicycles to students in difficult circumstances in the Cham village. They also provided 50 gift sets, including backpacks and essential items, to disadvantaged students at Hoa Loc Primary School, Minh Hoa commune.
Within the program's framework, the delegation also visited and presented gifts to the Management Board of the Islamic mosque. Additionally, they organized a tour of successful youth economic models at the Thoo Trinh Honey Cooperative and the Thach Hoa Orchid Garden in Minh Hoa commune. This allowed youth members to learn valuable lessons and experiences in developing local agricultural economies, guiding them in career orientation and economic development for themselves and their families.
Nguyen Hoang Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Dau Tieng District Youth Union and Chairman of the District Youth Federation, said: "'Winter Volunteer - Loving Spring' is a practical and meaningful program maintained annually by the District Youth Union Standing Committee. It is not only an opportunity to promote the pioneering and volunteer spirit of Dau Tieng youth in contributing to socio-economic development, ensuring social welfare, and building new rural areas but also creates an environment for youth to train, dedicate, and grow. It helps strengthen unity, gather youth from ethnic and religious communities, and consolidate and enhance the quality of the Youth Union and federation organizations."
