Remarkable results

After 2 years of implementing the national goal program on new rural building, Binh Duong province has reached some remarkable achievements of rural infrastructure facility development. Departments, agencies and localities have positively launched synchronous implementation of the goal program.

Contents of new rural building have been combined with emulation movement of “The entire province joins forces to build new rural area”, winning great response from local people. Therefore, local residents’ awareness has showed a good change. This is a foundation for the province to keep implementing the program effectively in the coming time.

Possibly speaking, implementation of new rural building program has brought positive changes for the provincial rural area. Visiting rural area in Bach Dang commune, Tan Uyen district, people will easily witness great changes such as well-invested rural roads. The communal People’s Committee chairman Pham Van Hoang said that after the Southern liberation day, Bach Dang was a poor commune. After 2 years of implementing new rural building program, local networks of road, school and station have been perfected with high quality. Besides, local people’s material and spiritual life have been improved significantly. “At present, we have focused on completing the remaining criteria. Expectedly, Bach Dang will finalize the program by the end of this year”, added Hoang.

Meanwhile, Phu Giao district’s Tan Long commune has also reached remarkable results after a short time of implementing the new rural building program. The result has turned a remote commune like Tan Long into a busy locality. The communal People’s Committee chairman Khong Van Cuong, said implementing the new rural building program, Tan Long’s infrastructure facility has been perfected, meeting local people’s demand on traveling. Tan Long has so far perfected the remaining criteria to become a new rural commune by the end of this year.

Special way of Binh Duong new rural program

As a province with rapid urbanization, new rural building in Binh Duong must attach to the province’s common planning. In 2 years of 2013 and 2014, Thu Dau Mot city and Thuan An town will have 6 rural communes to be turned into wards. Additionally, some new rural communes to be become wards include An Son of Thuan An town and Chanh Phu Hoa of Ben Cat district.

New rural building by turning communes into wards is very suitable to Binh Duong’s real situation. In reality, localities have implemented programs and projects in combination with investments in agriculture from various sources. This combination helps gain high results in some criteria of electricity usage, infrastructure facility, telecommunication, etc. many criteria of new rural building at Binh Duong are higher than the national criteria framework. This is a special way of new rural building in the province.

However, there remain some difficulties. Therefore, it requires efforts from all level agencies and people’s hi-unity.

As of April, 2013, some pilot communes of new rural building program at Binh Duong have reached 11-15 criteria out of 19 national criteria. Specifically, Bach Dang commune has won 14/19 criteria, An Son 15/19, Chanh Phu Hoa 11/19. The entire province now has 30/30 new rural communes finalizing common planning project. Many new rural communes have reached common criteria such as irrigation, accommodation, post office, healthcare, social order.
