Binh Duong of dynamism, creativity, dare to think, dare to do

In each development stage of the province, there are always advantages and disadvantages. Thanks to the attention and guidance of the Party Central Committee, the Government, and the drastic leadership and administration of provincial Party, efforts of the whole political system, a synergy have created to help Binh Duong overcome difficulties and effectively fulfill the set goals and tasks. The results achieved are respectful, but in order for the province to be more modern, prosperous, beautiful and civilized, the desire to rise higher must be aroused by the Party, authorities, people, and business communities.

As an official member of the World Technopolis Association (WTA), the image of dynamic and creative Binh Duong has come closer to international partners, promoting the construction of Binh Duong Smart City.

Modern industrial center

With the motto "Infrastructure comes first and takes the lead", for many years, Binh Duong provincial leaders have advocated investment in construction and completion of infrastructure in industrial parks and clusters according to planning, created a clean land fund for investors. Currently, the province has 29 industrial parks with a total area of nearly 13,000 hectares and 12 industrial clusters with a total area of nearly 800 hectares. Industrial parks and clusters have boosted the province's economic growth, provincial industrial index has increased steadily.

Besides, in recent years, the province has accelerated the restructuring of the industry by improving productivity, efficiency, competitiveness, and created a driving force for urban development and services in the area. The fact shows that industrial production of the province is developing in depth and connected with value chains of multinational corporations. In addition, internal structure of the industry has had a positive shift, gradually reducing labor-intensive industries, increasing industries applying science and technology, in which manufacturing industry continues to play an important role.  The province encourages enterprises to innovate technology and employ modern machinery to limit environmental impacts, and at the same time develops policies to stimulate the shift of industrial development to the north province and the functional transformation of industrial parks in the south province.

In order for Binh Duong to become a developed industrial center, in the 2020-2025 tenure, provincial leaders continues to direct the implementation of industrial restructuring based on innovation in investment attraction and application of advanced technologies and techniques. Accordingly, the province facilitates manufacturing in combination with urban development, stabilizes growth rate that plays an important role in stimulating the development of other industries and fields; researches and implements solutions to improve the capacity of businesses in supporting industry, gradually reduces the rate of processing and assembly while encouraging enterprises to participate in technological innovation programs; to stimulate the development of a number of key industries and fields with great potential and space, such as information technology, telecommunications, electronics, software manufacturing, clean energy, renewable energy, etc.

Besides, the province will give priority to inviting, attracting or expanding investment in industries with great potential, high science and technology content, and penetrate deeper into the global production network and value chains. Accelerating the effective implementation of the above orientations will contribute to promoting the industrial growth in the province, helping Binh Duong soon become a modern industrial center in the coming time.

To become a smart city

Besides the goal of becoming a modern industrial center by 2030, Binh Duong strives to become a smart city in the region and of the country by 2045. To achieve that goal, the province focuses on strategic breakthroughs, such as: To develop and improve qualifications of human resources, to meet all requirements to build up sustainable Binh Duong as a smart, civilized and modern city; promote high-quality services, meeting the requirements of industrial and urban development in the direction of civilization and modernity; upgrade traffic infrastructure in the direction of urbanization, build Binh Duong smart city.

Regarding the construction of Binh Duong Smart City, Provincial Party Committee has soon issued a policy since 2016. This idea expresses a strong desire to rise up of generations of leaders, authorities, people and businesses in the province. Up to now, the contents and programs of "Binh Duong Smart City" project have been drastically implemented by agencies, units and investors and gained positive initial results. The project implementation gradually forms the foundation of Triple Helix model; develops a system of scientific and technological research and entrepreneurship. In particular, a startup ecosystem was formed and put into operation with projects of Business Incubator, Support Center for Startups and Innovation.

The effective implementation of the initial steps has made a good impression on partners at home and abroad. Currently, Binh Duong is an official member of the World Technopolis Association (WTA), the first locality of Vietnam officially became a member of the world's Intelligence Community Forum (ICF). Continuously in three years 2019, 2020 and 2021, the province was honored by ICF as one of 21 cities and regions with typical smart city development strategies of the world (SMART 21).

It can be said that the smart city construction project achieved some good results and contributed many valuable and practical ideas, which are the foundation for the province to implement many specific programs and projects. On the other hand, the initial results in the construction of smart city have strongly promoted the province's socio-economic development, especially breakthroughs in international integration, expansion of international relations, and attraction of investment partners, step by step affirming the province's position in the international arena.

In the upcoming development strategy, the province will continue to execute the project "Binh Duong Innovation Region" with the planning of a scientific and technological industrial park and an innovative startup ecosystem. The province will also heighten the proportion of services, especially intensify e-commerce and international trade with the project of World Trade Center of Binh Duong New City. This center will be one of the power-generating works of Binh Duong New City. This place with convenient traffic is connected to other regions of the province and to Ho Chi Minh City. At the end of 2019, World Trade Center Association (WTCA) announced the admission of World Trade Center in Binh Duong New City. By becoming an official member of WTCA, Binh Duong has many opportunities to increase international cooperation, create connections and an environment for domestic companies to interact with global partners.

With solidarity, dynamism, creativity, dare to think, dare to do, an open vision and strong desire to rise up, iBinh Duong province is expected to successfully complete the set targets and tasks, to become a more modern, prosperous, beautiful, civilized and smart city in the future.
