Thu Dau Mot people cheers up to welcome liberation

Looking back to history, Binh Duong Party Committee has developed through difficulties from a small scale organization in 1930s to a leading organization of revolutionary movements in 1930-1936. Now the Binh Duong Party Committee confirms its strong will and creativity of leadership in the locality.

The acting Party Committee of Binh Duong is established in February 1936 at Thanh Loc Hamlet, An Thanh Village, Lai Thieu District (now An Thanh townlet, Thuan An District, Binh Duong province) led by Truong Van Nham, Nguyen Thi Bay, Ho Van Cong, etc.

By direction of the then-Southern region, the birth of Thu Dau Mot Party Committee opened up new phase of revolution in the town by then through promotion of propaganda deeper and wider in the province and calling for participation into Southern region’s uprising, preparing for general uprising in August 1945 to retrieve authority back to the people’s hands.

The August 1945 uprising was a success proving united strength of the public led by Thu Dau Mot Party Committee. This created momentum for revolution of the people and classes in the then-society. After the success was 9 years of hardship and long-term resistance war against French colonial. Through that 9-year resistance war, Thu Dau Mot Party Committee has grown up. However, another stage of history was greater challenge in a do-or-die situations when monopoly regime of the US and puppet government banished Thu Dau Mot Party Committee. Thousands of members were lost, leaving behind a few who maintained the Party Committee. By 1959, the suppression of US and puppet government came to its peak with large-scale attacks against Communist Party. In Thu Dau Mot, many Party officials were killed, arrested, imprisoned, and banished.

So as to prevent blood baths in ‘days of darkness’ caused by the US and puppet army, Resolution No. 15 of Central Party Committee was made to face up revolutionary demands at the moment. The Resolution No. 15 blew up the flame of revolution among Nam Bo people who weaponized themselves to fight back. In Thu Dau Mot an arm force was built to achieve preliminary victory against the enemy. Movements of people removing strategic concentration village of the US and puppet government broke out everywhere. The guidelines of Resolution No. 15 were so attached to the people that movements became stronger for the decisive victory in 1975, bring up independence and integrity.

Ten years ago, Thu Dau Mot Party Committee (other name: Song Be, Binh Duong Party Committee, now Binh Duong Party Committee) has successfully brought the province to the club of VND 1,000 billion, escaping from poverty after 8 terms of Party Congresses. The transformation of land from bombs and poverty to well-constructed facilities makes us moved and proud.

For the upcoming Party Congress, it is hopeful that Binh Duong Party Committee in new term of 2010-2015 will resolve environment problems in industrial parks; will develop budget housing; and will create better living standards in terms of cultural and spiritual life. And, the younger generation in Binh Duong is on the way following steps of the precedents to build up the country and defend what have been achieved.

80 years of unity and daring movements have won back independence, freedom, and happiness. Thu Dau Mot – Binh Duong Party Committee has made firm steps in leadership to bring Binh Duong Province to brighter future.
