Binh Duong province Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association to be imbued with brotherhood

Since its establishment, Binh Duong province Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association with many practical activities has really become a bridge contributing to foster a close relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia as well as Binh Duong province and Cambodia.

An effective bridge

Implementing foreign policies of the Party, State, and the solidarity between Vietnam-Cambodia, provincial Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association has actively implemented many activities to consolidate and develop the traditional solidarity, strengthened mutual understanding between the two nations’ people, especially between Binh Duong and Kratie province. In order to enhance activities, the Executive Committee has made efforts to establish and develop new affiliates, new members. At the present, the association has 16 affiliates including 348 members.

In addition, the association improves regularly forms of organization and activities to correspond to many types of member; seizes opportunities, adapt to new requirements; focuses on propaganda of the Party’s guidelines, raising political awareness of members. Thereby, activities have been enhanced to be diverse, practical, and effective, contributing to fastening the friendly relation between Vietnam – Cambodia.

Binh Duong province Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association visited and congratulated Kratie province Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association on occasion of Cambodia’s Liberation Day.

Engaging in diplomatic activities between Vietnam and Cambodia for a long time, Mr. Nguyen Huynh, former Chairman of Binh Duong province Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association, said: “The old Song Be province was assigned to assist Kratie province, because of the 240km-long border adjoining Cambodia. Then the province sent volunteers to coordinate with Cambodian friends to liberate Kratie province, contributing to Cambodia’s liberation. We also sent experts, technical staff to help Kratie province in reviving the land, provided rice, corn, salt, medicines... to help our friend to overcome difficulties”. Currently, Mr. Huynh is still an active member of the association. He is very proud of being a bridge of the noble friendship, and commits to joining hands to consolidate this relationship.

In recent years, the association has organized various activities to build up, strengthen the friendly relationship between the two countries. During 2 years (2014 and 2015), the association has held many practical activities, such as: congratulation to Kratie province Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association and Businessmen Association of 3 provinces of Kratie, Stungtreng, Ratanakiri on occasion of Cambodia's Liberation Day; visiting Vietnamese Combodian living in Kratie province. Also during these trips, Binh Duong province Business Association and provincial businesses, like: Dau Tieng - Kratie Rubber Company, gave many gifts and money to Kratie province Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Association, Businessmen Association of 3 provinces of Kratie, Stungtreng, Ratanakiri, and Vietnamese Combodian Association. The association, along with provincial leaders delegation, visited and extended Tet greetings to leaders of Kratie province; organized a get-together of former experts of Kratie, Binh Duong, and Binh Phuoc province on occasion of Cambodia's Liberation Day…

In particular, charitable activities have been focused and achieved many good results. The association cooperated with provincial Red Cross, provincial Buddhist Sangha to visit and give gifts worth hundreds of VND million to the poor in Ro Put commune, Canh ro Tung district, Canh Dang province, and Cambodian poor households, Vietnamese Combodian poor households in Kratie province.

On June 20^th and 21^st 2015, the association offered gifts, free medicine worth totally VND400 million to 200 pupils and 300 poor women in Kratie province on the occasion of the establishment the diplomatic tie between Vietnam – Cambodia. The association also arranged cultural exchange activities on occasion of Cambodian traditional New Year. Namely, the association in collaboration with provincial Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association to give gifts to Cambodian and Lao students studying at Ngo Quyen University…

With achieved results in recent years, provincial Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Association has continued to organize effective and practical activities, contributing to strengthening and developing the Vietnam – Cambodia friendship relation; integrating public relation with the Party, State’s foreign policies to create synergy, successfully implement diplomatic tasks.
