Breakthrough

The proportion of industrial manufacture now accounts for more than 60% of the province’s GDP. The province ranks second nationwide in FDI attraction after HCM city, with more than 3,700 projects. Located in the center of the southern key economic zone, the province has gradually affirmed its role in regional, inter-regional relationship and international connection.

Along with being proud of achievements in socio-economic development, the province’s Party, government and people have always realized challenges as well as opportunities from the local intergation process, thereby putting forward strategic policies in order to further create new breakthroughs in socio-economic development in the coming time.

Tran Van Nam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Head of provincial National Assembly deputy delegation said that over the past time, the province has made efforts in boosting multilateral and bilateral cooperation in all fields, promoting socio-economic development, improving competitiveness and integration ability in the international arena. Especially, accompanying the development of Asia and the world, the province has implemented a project on Binh Duong smart city building in 2021 and vision to 2030. This is seen as a breakthrough program in socio-economic development, aiming to step by step increase the scale of the province with the region and the world.

Hit from smart city

Implementing its project on smart city development since 2016, the province has focused on infrastructure construction, aiming to create the local favorable and stable investment climate. Till now, the province has absorbed many investors from 54 countries and territories worldwide.

Especially, the province last year became an official member of the World Technopolis Association (WTA) and it was also an official member of the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF). The province has become the first and only one in Vietnam to be named a Smart21 community for two consecutive years from 2019 and 2020 by the ICF. The event will create a major motivation for the province to make more efforts on the way of integration and sustainable development.

Further hosting the Horasis Asia Meeting 2019 has affirmed the prestige, capacity, positive of the province in the region and the world again. This is a main event in a series of the “Binh Duong smart city” events 2019.

Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue affirmed that the flexible development of Binh Duong has significantly contributed to the evolution of the southern key economic zone and the whole country. He also said: “With the Binh Duong smart city project, we may have high expectations of a prosperous city in the future”.

With appropriate orientations, strategies, Binh Duong gets ready for new breakthroughs towards sustainable and fast socio-economic development in the near future, contributing to the prosperity of the southern key economic zone and the entire country.

Associate Prof. Dr.Tran Dinh Thien, member of the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Group said that with its strategy on smart city development, Binh Duong has been in the right direction for socio-economic shift to a new period under the world’s trend. With the efforts in hi-tech investment attraction, modern infrastructure investment…, the province is in the right direction for the local development process. The province is worthy of being a model on development strategy of the whole country with flexible growth and far vision.
