A non-commercial restaurant sponsored by Thanh Le General Import Export Trading Company was opened in Hiep Thanh Ward, Thu Dau Mot Town as a follow-up to decision of Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee. Each meal serve is charged at VND 10,000 or VND 5,000 lower than normal catering restaurant. The action done is meaningful to poor people in the face of escalating market prices.

The 3-month old restaurant near Thanh Le Cultural Park is attractive to diners for its low price and fresh air.

 

Cheap meals are affordable to poor people.

We are impressed by the service of free vehicle parking and good catering in the space of 2,000 sq m which can serve 1,000 diners. Meals are ordered by tickets averagely at VND 10,000.

Ms. Truong Thi Loan – a person in charge of the restaurant, informs that the restaurant is open on week days from 11:00 to 18:10. At lunch time, about 800 dishes are sold out comparing with 100-200 in the afternoon. The diners are mainly workers, students, street vendors.

“I eat here everyday before returning my dorm. At the cost of VND 10,000, we serve ourselves enough,” said Nguyen Hoai Vinh – a student of Binh Duong Economic and Technology university.

The restaurant also serves take away dishes.

Recently in a working session with Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee, the working team of Central Party Committee has highly appreciated the operation of such a non-commercial restaurant which was proposed to be extended in the near future. Binh Duong Provincial People’s Committee is mobilizing to extend construction of non-commercial restaurants in Thuan An and Di An Towns.
