Update: 10-06-2015 | 17:47:50

Co.opMart Binh Duong has actively responded to the “Vietnamese people give priority to using Vietnam goods” campaign. And the supermarket has just been awarded the certificate of merit of provincial People’s Committee for its contributions to the drive. It has also become one of key units in carrying out provincial People’s Committee’s instruction on market price stabilization, contributing to well realizing the local policies on social welfare.

Giving to priority to Vietnamese goods

Currently, 90% of goods at Co.opMart Binh Duong are domestic ones, according to supermarket deputy director Duong Bao Khang. The supermarket has always prioritized display and promotion to environmentally friendly and hi-quality Vietnamese commodities. Upon this, the supermarket has fostered an abundant source of Vietnamese goods with high quality and reasonable price in line with customers’ demand.

The supermarket has also paid more attention to promoting the local traditional products. Many local agricultural products like Long Nguyen, Bach Dang pomelos, Lai Thieu mangosteens together with some kinds of vegetables grown by locals are being displayed at the supermarket.

The supermarket is expected to organize booths selling Binh Duong’s fruit specialties on June 17 ahead when the “Lai Thieu in ripe fruit season 2015” festival will also take place with the goal of  promoting the trademark of Binh Duong’s fruits to customers.

Besides, Co.opMart Binh Duong has also actively participated in the “bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas” market-days. It has coordinated with provincial Department of Industry and Trade to organize mobile goods selling programs at industrial parks or in remote areas of the province. On average, there are 100 such programs annually held by the supermarket.

Main products of Co.opMart Binh Duong’s mobile goods selling programs include rice, cooking oil, seasoning power, confectionary, soft drink…with price that is 3%-5% lower than that at the supermarket. The supermarket’s total value of goods for mobile goods selling programs at industrial parks and in remote areas of the province was approximately VND15bln. It also presented valuable gifts to poor and policy beneficiaries families.

Contributing to market price stabilization

Previously, some essential goods like meat, vegetables, fruits, confectionary, beer, soft drink…frequently faced price fluctuations on Tet. The situation was no more when provincial People’s Committee has implemented a program of advancing capital to some enterprises that have stockpiled essential goods for Tet. And Co.opMart Binh Duong has played an important role in the province’s market price stabilization program.

Apart from 6 groups of essential goods under the province’s price stabilization program, Co.opMart Binh Duong has stockpiled many other essential goods like foodstuff, garment products, beverage... The supermarket has not only stockpiled goods at its warehouses, but also advanced capital to farms and cooperatives to reserve some fresh products, especially “clean” ones under the VietGap process. It has also continuously launched a 10%-50% discount program on some products, contributing to stabilizing the market.

In addition, Co.opMart has given priority to consuming agricultural products grown by farmers facing difficulties in market. It has purchased around 2 tons of onions in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang together with hundreds of tons of water melons in some other localities.

In the coming time, Co.opMart Binh Duong will give priority to consuming products from the local producers while having a close control over the quality and origin of all products. It will also actively organize many promotion programs for Vietnamese goods, especially those selected as hi-quality Vietnamese ones.
