*120 scholarships awarded to poor-but-excellent pupils

TDM city’s Women’s Union, on August 16, kicked off the 2013 competition for good propagandists on environmental protection. Fourteen teams representing cadres and members of the city’s Women’s Unions at all levels attended the competition.

The competition focused on 2015’s Law on Environmental Protection and Vietnam’s legal documents, including the Government’s Decree No.80/2006/ND-CP dated August 9, 2006 on detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on Environmental Protection, the Decree No.21/2008/ND-CP dated February 28, 2008 on supplementing a number of articles of the Decree No./2006/ND-CP and the Decree No.117/2009/ND-CP dated December 31, 2009 on the handling of law violations in the domain of environmental protection.

According to the organizers, the competition aimed to raise the local women and people’s awareness of environmental protection and prevention of activities causing environmental pollution.

*Ben Cat district’s Women’s Union in collaboration with provincial Young Businesswomen Association, Kim Oanh Real Estate Joint Stock Company and Trieu Phat Woodwork Processing Company has just held a ceremony to award 120 scholarships to poor-but-excellent pupils at district-based primary schools and junior high schools, contributing to encouraging them to further overcome difficulties and gain high results in study in the 2013 and 2014 academic year. Each scholarship is worth between VND700,000 and VND1mln, including cash and learning tools.
